Good morning Batchawana Bay.

With all this snow. This is a friendly reminder to keep your rural identification number clear and visible.

We may know who you are but the ambulance service and police service does not.

We hope no one needs to use these numbers but it's your responsibility to keep them clear.

Have a safe day folks! 🚒🚑🚓

On Monday, we lost a legend, a mentor, a leader, and a friend in the fire service.
OFM Fire Advisor Bob Thorpe passed away peacefully with his beloved family by his side.
Bob played a major roll over the years in the success of our department. He was always there when you needed him and supported us in everything we did. Bob will forever be a part of us and who we are. We are fortunate to have had him by our sides for so many years. Our sincerest condolences to his wife and family.

Rest easy brother. We’ll take it from here.

🔥🚒 Effective July 1, 2026, all firefighters in Ontario must be certified to meet the requirements of Ontario Regulation 343/22 Firefighter Certification. 🔥🚒

As we move closer to the deadline, we want to give a huge shoutout to all the amazing fire departments across Ontario! Your commitment to training and certifying firefighters in compliance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards is truly commendable.

Here at the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM), we've been working closely with departments across Ontario, providing guidance and assistance to ensure that all firefighters are trained and certified within the time frame. We understand the effort it takes to meet these standards, and we want to recognize each and every fire department for your dedication to ensuring the highest standards of fire safety in our communities. Let's continue to work together to support our brave firefighters and ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in Ontario!
