In this presentation, Karen Shuh, Executive Director of Barrie Food Bank, will share what’s really happening behind the numbers - who is using the food bank today, why demand continues to grow, and how rising costs are affecting local families, seniors, and working individuals.
You’ll learn how Barrie Food Bank operates, from its innovative self-shop Marketplace model, how its Corner Store provides emergency food support to the unhoused, to its Food Recovery program that rescues food that were otherwise destined for the dumpster and its School Fuel program which provides healthy snacks to children in 35 local schools.
