Builders For Change is a Canadian not-for-profit organization & Registered Charity. It was founded by Melissa Bazely and this is her legacy.

Builders For Change is a Canadian non-profit organization with Canadian Charitable status. Mission Statement: Nurturing, Educating, and Empowering Youth in the Developing World to become Tomorrow’s Leaders and Mentors, One Person at a Time. Today, this charitable organization exists (Builders For Change) where funds invested, will allow young people from underprivileged areas including from the Dominican Republic, can gain access to education. Melissa believed that education was one of the key factors out of poverty. That it can make a difference not only for the individual but for a community. Melissa truly believed in the quote by Mahatma Gandhi: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

A message from our sponsored student Shannel!

"Greetings,
I hope this message finds you all doing well. I am writing to provide you with my academic results for the first semester and summer term of 2026, as part of the scholarship agreement.

Including my Summer 2026 Calculus grade, my estimated cumulative average is approximately 88.2%, equivalent to an estimated GPA of 3.53 on a 4.00 scale.

Although this academic period presented several challenges, it also allowed me to strengthen my perseverance and commitment to my studies. I am pleased to have completed the courses listed above and to have continued working toward my academic goals during the summer term. I remain fully committed to my Economics degree, to improving my academic performance, and to making the most of the opportunity and support provided through this scholarship.
