Do you have a Grade 11 or 12 student in the Simcoe County District School Board? The Black Fathers Alliance is proud to present the Beyond the Stereotype: Career Pathways Program at Georgian College!

This dedicated day gives Black youth the tools, insights, and connections to step confidently into their futures.

✨ What to expect:

Financial Literacy Workshop: Practical money skills tailored for life after high school.

Mentor Roundtables: Small-group, intimate conversations with accomplished Black professionals and community leaders.

Prizes & Giveaways: Exciting prizes to be won by attending students!

Free Admission: Busing and lunch are fully provided.

At The Black Fathers Alliance, we pause to celebrate Emancipation Day, marking the abolition of slavery in what is now Canada and honoring the strength, courage, and rich history of Black Canadians.

Emancipation Day is a time to reflect on our history, acknowledge the struggles of the past, and recognize the sacrifices and determination of those who fought for liberty.

As we reflect today, we also commit to keeping this history alive and working together toward a more inclusive future. 🖤✊🏾

Do you remember what it was like trying to figure out your path in high school? The Black Fathers Alliance (TBFA) is looking for local leaders to share their journeys and guide our youth.

In partnership with the Simcoe County District School Board and Georgian College, we are hosting the Beyond the Stereotype: Career Pathways Program at the Georgian College Barrie Campus.

We are recruiting Professional Mentors from all backgrounds: 🏛️ Politics, Policy & Public Service 🛠️ Trades & Skilled Labor 🍳 Culinary Arts & Hospitality 💻 Tech & Aviation 💼 Business, Real Estate, Finance & Law 🩺 Healthcare & Life Sciences 🎨 Arts, Film & Media 🚀 Entrepreneurs 📚 Education & Academia

We're looking for someone who knows how to dig deeper than a Google search. Tell us how you would conduct the research, what sources and resources you would use, and why you're interested in the project.

Fatherhood advocacy is about refusing to lose children. 👏

The way America talks about fatherhood is dangerous. Too often, we flatten the conversation into opposing sides: fathers versus mothers. And often, the debate becomes so crowded with accusations that the child almost disappears.
