Simcoe County Offroad Riders Association The Simcoe County Off Road Riders Association (SCORRA) is a family oriented off road motorcycle riders club.

The Simcoe County Off Road Riders Association (SCORRA) is a family oriented off road motorcycle riders club formed in December 2006. With an inaugural membership of 25, we have quickly grown to become one of the largest clubs in Ontario with more than 800 adult and child members in 2011. SCORRA is actively involved in establishing, maintaining, and patrolling trails within Simcoe County. We host a

number of events each year including rider training, trail & track rides, motorcycle maintenance, and club meetings. We are a provincially incorporated not for profit corporation managed by a volunteer board. As a local club of the Ontario Federation of Trail Riders you can join in on the fun by selecting us as your primary club affiliation when joining the OFTR. In doing so a portion of your membership fees are directed to our club. Funds raised through membership dues, event fees, and sponsorships are used for trail building, maintenance, trail signage, insurance, club promotion and events. Most of our trails are located in the County of Simcoe Forestry properties where riding is governed by the county’s recreation Policy. If you ride an Off Road Motorcycle here you are required to have a valid trail pass and stay on the designated trails. Your bike must be licensed, insured, equipped with a spark arrestor and quiet (94 DB or less). Your OFTR/SCORRA membership is your trail pass which gets you access to some of the best single and two track trails in the province. SCORRA encourages everyone riding in our communities to: ride safe, within the law, and respecting other trail users.

The Last Blast Ride is a fun and exclusive event for SCORRA members to get together for a ride and some fellowship. The event features informal guided trail rides at one of three favourite SCORRA tracts. Following the ride we invite participants to meet up at the Barrie Sports Complex Pavilion for some dinner and bench racing around a warm fire pit.

Also back for the second year is an ADV ride for those of us that want to get out on our big bikes. Mike Lewkoski ( SCORRA board ) will lead a guided adventure ride around Simcoe County visiting various SCORRA trails. Note that the ADV ride will leave the Hendrie staging area off Nursery Road at 10am sharp, returning to join the festivities at the Barrie Sports Complex at 3pm.

This year asking SCORRA members for a $10 refundable deposit on a meal ticket to help us plan the dinner efficiently. Your $10 will be fully refunded when you come to the Barrie Sports Complex for dinner. Deposits from no-shows will go towards covering the cost of the meal.

SCORRA and the OFTR would like to thank our summer students Jake and Ryan for all the hard work and effort that they have given us the last 8 weeks.

Jake and Ryan pushed a brush hog through Lawden, Modrits, Hogback, Mellenium, Williams, Orr Lake and Stoney forest tracts. Many days of hard work pushing the hog!

The boys have cut countless downed trees and face slappers making our trails safer and more fun to ride.

Significant time was spent at the Wildman tract prepping the trails for our members.

FYI - for anyone riding / attending the Williams or Millennium tract this weekend you can access / will need to travel south on Old Second from Horseshoe Valley, as the train crossing and northern access is closed until Tuesday morning! Enjoy the weekend!

The bad news is that the County has informed us that the harvest in Brentwood is starting this week. Please check the RideOFTR app for the areas closed in Brentwood.

The good news is that the harvest in Lawden is complete and the trails have been opened on the RideOFTR app.

Valley Trail Riders is stoked to release our second trail network to all Ontario Federation of Trail Riders (OFTR) members: Sandlake! 🌲🏍️

These trails have historically been an exclusive riding area for locals. However, since the land is scheduled to be logged this year and next, we collectively decided it’s time to open them up for all members to enjoy. Hands down, these are by far the best trails we have in the area.

Right now, we’ve only published the "Main Lines" for Sandlake North and South side. That said, there is probably double the amount of mileage out there once you factor in all the hidden offshoots and alternate lines.

South Side has good flow to it, North Side has more obstacles.

Please come up anytime to ride these while we still can this summer!
