The July Barrie Good Food Box is filled with hearty, nutritious and locally sourced produce and we love the value for these ten items. Thank you to our volunteers for packing hundreds of bags that are in the hands of our neighbours to enjoy. If you would like similar bag simply order between now and August 5 or place a cash order at 99 Ferris Lane. Boxes will be ready on Aug 12 at Barrie Free Methdodist Church, 290 Cundles Rd East.

Our brilliant volunteers worked diligently today to prepare 460 orders of the Barrie Good Food Box. Such a dedicated and efficient team. Thank you to all the volunteers for generously donating your time and energy. If you have ordered a bag this month, it is ready for pickup before 6pm. Many thanks to the Barrie Free Methodist Church who loans us their facilities to pack, and to our stellar supplier, Sanfilippo Wholesale Fruit & Vegetables, along with the great delivery driver Paul. It takes a group effort to execute this program each month, and we couldn't be more grateful for these wonderful folks.

Important Update to Good Food Box Pricing ‼️

Thank you for your continued support of the Barrie Good Food Box program. We are grateful to be part of our community having access to fresh, high-quality produce, and we appreciate the trust you place in us. To ensure we can continue providing the same quality produce and reliable service you have come to expect, we will be making an adjustment to our pricing effective September 3, 2026.
New Pricing $23.00 per box 🍎

This was not a decision we made lightly. We have delayed this increase for as long as possible; however, rising costs for produce, transportation, and program operations mean that this adjustment is necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Good Food Box program. Even with this change, the Barrie Good Food Box continues to offer exceptional value, providing fresh, quality produce—much of it locally sourced—at a price well below what many families would pay at a grocery store.

We understand that any price increase can be difficult, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and continued support. Your participation helps keep this community program strong, allowing us to continue serving our members with affordable, nutritious food.

Our volunteers are the heart and soul of the Barrie Good Food Box. With enthusiasm, elbow grease and great attitudes our volunteers processed 575 bags of delicious and nutrient-dense veggies and fruits for our loyal community. Thanks to all who ordered a box. Barrie Good Food Box recognizes and thanks Sky, who is a vital part of our pack day team. Each month Sky volunteers her time and energy from 9am to 6pm doing a variety of tasks; unloading the truck; packing and arranging bags; facilitating deliveries; disassembling and cleaning; and greeting customers with kindness and enthusiasm. She carts hundreds of orders to load into customer's vehicles while maintaining a positive attitude and team work approach. Her presence at pack day lifts everyone's spirits and we love her willingness to help and guide anyone.

"I learned about The Barrie Good Food Box through my participation in the Empower Simcoe Job Readiness program. I enjoy helping others, so I kept on volunteering. It’s a mixture of unloading the truck, packing the bags, and customer service. I also volunteer at Furry Friends cat rescue. I am a Beaver Leader, and I coach Special Olympics Floor Hockey.”
