A few weeks ago, Emmanuel’s Wish Foundation hosted a Family Movie Night and Community Event here in South Africa (photos soon to come!)

One of the activities we had was our “Community Dream Tree,” where community members, especially the children and teens, could write down their dreams and hopes for our community. It was a wonderful way for us to listen, learn, and get a sense of what some of our future projects and priorities might be.

I thought I’d share some of the children’s dreams with all of you here. ❤️

EWF is trying to understand the changing needs of our community as we move forward into the future, and (as always) I think the children said it best.

UNITED WAY: ANNUAL WORKPLACE GIVING

Did you know that you can direct your annual workplace giving via The United Way to Emmanuel's Wish Foundation? Since we are a fully registered, Canadian charity, it's easy!

How to Direct Your Gift:

* When completing your workplace pledge campaign (online portal or physical paper pledge card), look for the option to "Support a Specific Charity" or "Designate a portion of your annual donation".

* You will need to explicitly write in the following organization details:

Update: Our fundraiser, Drinking for South Africa, was an amazing success and raised $4,300 for Emmanuel's Wish Foundation! This success was only possible through the dedication and work of our Board member, Lori Wilson and her very patient husband, Mike Briscoe. We are SO lucky to have you on-board!

We are so grateful to all of you for you interest in supporting our work, which includes every dollar raised, every gift in-kind, every "like" and "share" in support of the work we do to support vulnerable children youth and families here in South Africa.

As a reminder, our programs are designed to support vulnerable children with access to quality childcare, create a safe space and mentorship programs for at-risk youth and child-led households, support families with basic necessities (food parcels, medicine, etc.) during times of crisis and offer culturally-relevant workshops to develop parenting skills through play and community. Every initiative we run is driven by impact, compassion, and community partnership.

Join us for the most epic fundraiser of the year! This event is a 20-year revival of the original event in 2006 named “Drinking for Orphans”. The stories still linger from that one, so you definitely don’t want to miss out on what happens this time around.

We’ll kick off with a Parents vs. Kids Soccer Match at 3:30 PM, followed by Family Movie Night starting at 5:00 PM.
