We are so excited to launch Abide, a brand-new dedicated space to celebrate the “good news” of what God is doing across our communities! Our first edition is releasing this week!

We chose the name Abide because it sits at the very heart of everything we do. It reflects the children currently abiding in the safe, loving care of our host families. It represents our deepest prayer, that the families we serve are drawn to abide in Christ through the love they experience here. Finally it reminds us to remain rooted in Him as a ministry.

Whether you are a Host Family, a Family Friend, a donor, or a supporter, we want to journey together. Grab a coffee and dive in! In our upcoming editions, you’ll get to read uplifting stories from our regions, find out how you can get involved in our next major fundraisers, and hear a word of encouragement from Phillip, our Executive Director.

We are so excited to welcome Renee Van Dixhoorn to the Safe Families Barrie/Orillia team as one of our volunteers! 💛

Renee has a heart for family, community, and walking alongside others during difficult seasons. She enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren and loves building meaningful connections with those around her.

When each of us says “yes” to doing our part, families don’t have to face hard seasons alone. Together, we become the support system so many parents are missing.

We’re excited to welcome Phillip Fearon as Executive Director of Safe Families Canada!

Phillip brings over 20 years of leadership experience in both corporate operations and Christian ministry, including executive roles at Yonge Street Mission and People’s Christian Academy, along with senior business leadership at EDS Canada.
With a Master of Theology and a heart for serving families in crisis, Phillip is passionate about mobilizing the Church across Canada to extend radical hospitality, compassionate mercy, and practical support to vulnerable families.
