Gilda's Club Simcoe Muskoka Thank to the generosity of our donors, everything we offer is free to members. We build community, so we can take on cancer together.

Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka, an affiliate of the Cancer Support Community, is dedicated to providing support, education and hope to all people impacted by cancer. Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka opened its Red Door in 2010 after a seven year capital campaign spearheaded by Patricia Gilbert. After watching a friend’s experience with breast cancer years earlier, and then living her own cancer journey, Patricia and her husband John invited the community to join them in their mission to create a place where people diagnosed with cancer, and their family and friends, could come together as a “cancer support community”. Gilda’s Club’s warm and welcoming 10,000 square foot clubhouse is conveniently located across the street from Royal Victoria Hospital and the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Program. Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka hosts evidence-based programming that includes professionally-facilitated support groups, healthy lifestyle classes, social activities, educational lectures and community resource information. We firmly believe that no one should have to take on cancer alone; as such, we always have been and always will be absolutely free of charge.

The members who share their stories. The volunteers who offer a warm welcome. The donors and partners who keep our red door open. And everyone who reminds someone, “You don’t have to face this alone.”

Your kindness and generosity help create a place where people impacted by cancer can find support, friendship and belonging—and for that, we are deeply grateful.

Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka is proud to partner with the Barrie Film Festival for a screening of Run Terry Run on October 17 at 1 p.m. at Galaxy Cinemas in Barrie’s south end.

Terry Fox’s legacy continues to inspire communities to come together for people impacted by cancer. At Gilda’s, that spirit lives in the connections we build and the free emotional and social support we provide—because no one should face cancer alone.

At Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka, we’re here for everyone impacted by breast cancer. Our specialized support groups offer a place to share what you’re going through, connect with people who understand and find community along the way.

Today, we honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors, and the families and communities who continue to live with their impacts. We invite our community to make time to listen to Indigenous voices, learn the truth of this history, and carry that learning beyond today.
