Proudly “playing in the dirt since 1993”, the Bow Valley Mountain Bike Alliance - BVMBA has helped shape and maintain the diverse trail culture that makes the Bow Valley such a special place to ride.

Powered by passionate volunteers, the organization continues to build, maintain, and advocate for sustainable mountain biking trails across the region 🚵🏽

is a great reminder that trails do not happen on their own. They are built and cared for by people who give their time, skills, and energy to create outdoor experiences that benefit the entire community, not just bikers 🤝

From trail days and maintenance to rider education and stewardship, the Bow Valley Mountain Bike Alliance continues to help keep people active, outdoors, and having fun.

Photographs by Banff, Canmore, and Mînî Thnî high school students are now on display at the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies. The Through the Lens program helps local teens learn to photograph and develop pictures with 35 mm film 📸

Last week we attended the opening of the Through the Lens exhibition at the Whyte. It was a celebration of all the things that make art special for young people—how it helps them express their creativity, tell their stories, and connect to themselves and each other.

We’re so proud to support this program.

Bike Month is a great reminder of the many ways bikes can support healthier, more engaged communities.

Community Cruisers and its Pedal 4 Joy program help seniors and older adults across the Bow Valley get outside, stay physically and socially active, and bring adventure and fun back into their lives through free rides on a four-seat adaptive e-bike 🚲

Supported through strong community partnerships and dedicated volunteers, the program creates opportunities for people whose mobility, age, or health challenges can make it harder to access outdoor recreation.

Programs like Pedal 4 Joy show how cycling can support physical and mental well-being while helping more people experience the joy of being outdoors.

Supporting seniors means creating opportunities to stay active, social, and engaged in the community.

As part of our annual donation to the Town of Banff, the Wim & Nancy Pauw Foundation is supporting the expansion of programs that promote recreation, wellness, and mobility for local seniors 💪

This year’s funding includes $21,000 for the Seniors Walking and Aquafit programs, along with support for the Seniors Bus expansion pilot to improve transportation and access for residents across the community.

These programs help seniors stay healthy, connected, and involved while continuing to enjoy everything Banff has to offer 🩵

Bike Month is here 🚲

Bike Month is a celebration of the people, organizations, and communities helping more people get outside, stay active, and connect through cycling.

Across the Bow Valley, local clubs, programs, volunteers, and community partners are creating opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to ride, explore, and enjoy the outdoors.

From trails and recreation programs to adaptive cycling initiatives and youth development, these efforts help build healthier, more connected communities.

Throughout Bike Month, we’ll be highlighting some of the incredible organizations and initiatives helping make cycling such an important part of life in the Bow Valley. Stay tuned. 🚴
