Navigating Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) benefits can feel overwhelming. Unfortunately, some individuals profit from this by charging Veterans fees to navigate the VAC process.

The Legion offers these services for free to all Veterans. The Legion's professional and knowledgeable team of Command Service Officers provide expert guidance through the entire claims process and appeals process, completely free of charge. You do not need to be a Legion member to take advantage of these services.

Veterans have made immense sacrifices in service to Canada, and deserve trustworthy assistance. The Legion’s Command Service Officers have government security clearance, provide invaluable advocacy, and make a significant impact in the lives of Canada's Veterans.

Branch 424 is in the news! “… Dennis Mills, a former Liberal MP, now president of the Bala Legion in Muskoka Lakes, Ont., said his branch faced its own dire situation a decade ago.

“We only had 29 members. Another two or three months, we wouldn’t be alive,” Mills told CBC’s The Current.

“But then we evolved. And evolved is the word I like to use all the time, because now we are a place where we have affordable dinners on Friday night, we have concerts that are affordable, and we've opened the doors to everyone.”

Every Veteran deserves a dignified funeral and burial, regardless of their financial situation. All Canadian Armed Forces members, regardless if they are single, married or living common-law, whose death is attributable to military service, should be granted a death benefit and receive a dignified burial.
