COMMUNITY KINDNESS
🎉 A special Big Up to Carla Kaayak for volunteering to help out with rides for an Elder who had challenges getting into a big truck to go to the Nunamiut Lodge on Saturday. She made it possible for the Elder to attend the Christmas dinner and be with family and friends👏👏❤️

TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION Community Event
Here are some photos from Baker Lake's T&R event that was held on Nov 26 2025.
Many thanks to Nancy Aupaluktuq for opening the evening with a beautiful qulliq lighting, Joedee Joedee for blessing the event with a prayer, and to Peter Tapatai for sharing real-life experiences that people had during the time of residential schools, and the importance of acknowledging this time.
After a community feast, Timothy Evviuk performed a drum dance, and there was gospel singing by Anne Kalluk and Hugh Nateela, and Jeannie Tapatai and Salomonie Pootoogook, followed by an open mic session with musicians including Linda Kalluk and Thomas Tutanuaq.
