🧡 TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION DAY 🧡

September 30, 2026

Abluqta Society would like to take this time to commemorate Truth and Reconciliation Day (Orange Shirt Day).

On this day, schools are closed, offices are closed, and people will wear orange shirts to remember the many Indigenous children who were taken from their homes to residential and day schools.

Every child matters.
Strength, resilience, support, and truth.

Abluqta Society is accepting resumes for the position of Casual/“Back-Up” Hot Lunch Cooks.

📢 CALLING ATTENTION TO 📢

Please share with your networks!

Abluqta Society is a registered Canadian charity located in Baker Lake, Nunavut. We focus on addressing food insecurity, cooking and cultural programming, and work place readiness and volunteering.

In the last few years, we have dealt with many challenges that have threatened our operations from having to move out of one location due to mould and our most recent location burning down. Regardless, we have continued to provide services to the Baker Lake community through our hot lunch program and our monthly food bags/vouchers. We also have distributed country food to Elders and community at large.

If you would like to see this very important work continue and want to make a positive impact on food insecurity in Baker Lake, please consider donating to our organization!
