On 1 November 2026, trained teams plan to complete 108 Jangchub Chortens along Gelephu’s Mao River in a single coordinated day.

Around 100,000 people are expected to gather, with 84,000 already registered by 8 October. Hotels are filling, special traffic restrictions will apply, and private vehicles cannot enter Gelephu town from 1–4 November.

Gampo Abbey, October 13, 2026. It was the day of the Sukhavati Ceremony for our dear dharma friend, Judy McDougall Syms, practitioner of many years, close long time friend to Ani Pema and all the sangha here. It was a beautiful day, and a beautiful tribute… fly well Judy! We will all miss you here on Cape Breton Island. We’ve lost a treasure. 🙏🍂
