What a beautiful day at the Victoria County Community Fair! While river conditions meant we couldn’t hold the Duck Race as planned, we were delighted to still be part of such a wonderful community event.

A special thank-you to Dr. Elena Garcia for drawing our winning tickets, and congratulations to all of our lucky winners! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket and supported the Foundation, and to the Baddeck Valley Community Fair and Baddeck Valley 4-H Club for helping make it such a fantastic day.

Your support makes a real difference — helping us provide equipment, resources, and support for our hospital staff and enhance patient care right here in Victoria County. ❤️

Emergency Preparedness: Ready for the Unexpected

We can't always prevent emergencies from happening, but we can be ready in case they do. This information session will build knowledge and equip us with skills to be prepared for major emergencies and disasters.

Join Aging Well NS Community Developers and Erica Brook from the provincial Department of Emergency Management for a discussion about the hazards we face in Nova Scotia, household planning and kits, and resources and tips to stay well during an emergency.

Due to the water level in the river being too high, we unfortunately won’t be able to hold the Duck Race as planned.

Instead, the winners will be determined by a ticket draw at 11:30 AM, September 12th, during the Victoria County Community Fair! 🎟️✨

💙 Your donations are making a difference at VCMH

When you donate to the Hospital Charitable Foundation, your generosity stays right here in our community and helps us find meaningful ways to support VCMH.

One of our newest initiatives is providing a lunch for hospital staff every second month as a small gesture of appreciation for the dedicated people who care for our community every day.

The first lunch was recently enjoyed by VCMH staff, with sandwiches from the Herring Choker and fresh fruit and veggie trays from the Co-op. We were so pleased to hear how much it was appreciated!

The gathering also provided an opportunity for the VCMH team to recognize colleagues who received nominations for the Unsung Hero Award.

This is just one example of how donations from local residents, businesses and organizations are put to work to support our hospital and the people who make it such an important part of our community.

Thank you for helping us give back to those who give so much to our community. ❤️
