We recently completed an investigation and have finalized our client briefing. The setting was a home built in the late 1800's by a farming family who eventually moved on once the father had passed away. The current owner recalls people renting it when he purchased it, but other than a rumour of being haunted, wasn't really sure what to believe as his family didn't actually occupy it, but rather the house sat idle while they continued to farm the land. There is no running power to the house, and early EMF readings indicated a zero reading, with notable light interference coming from road traffic, and temperature interference due to broken windows (important to know before night time photographs and temperature readings etc). Prior to initiating any investigation, the team prepares equipment by placing new and/or freshly charged batteries coupled by testing for proper functioning. During the actual investigation two teams of three separated throughout the house conducting EVR's, photographs, full spectrum video, etc for the most part general photography yielded transparent circular floating shapes which for the most part would be considered dust particles with light refraction. One notable occurrence took place - team one was conducting an EVR session on the second floor north west end with audio recording device, various temperature readings, full spectrum video camera & lighting, as well as a digital camera. During the session in communication a challenge was offered to any present energy to take power from equipment to enable communication with investigators of any king (knocking, touching, noise etc). Approximately 5 - 10 seconds afterwards the video camera shut down immediately followed by power outage on the digital camera (occurred approximately 7:40 pm. After completing the second floor, team one met team two downstairs where it was learned that the photographer on team one also experienced power outage on the digital camera approximately 7:40 pm. Nothing else noteworthy, but good for discussion. A picture of the room on the second floor is attached for your viewing, and the client has agreed to allow us to share this information.
