Some people understand the power of hope because they have had to find it for themselves.
Olivia is one of those people.
Her own experiences with addiction have shaped the way she connects with the people who walk through the doors at The Family Central. She knows what it feels like to face challenges that others may not always understand, and that lived experience has become a gift in the way she supports others.
What stands out about Olivia is the way she sees people—not as the mistakes they have made or the circumstances they are currently facing, but as whole people with stories, strengths, and the ability to move forward.
During her time at The Family Central, Olivia has grown in confidence as a support worker, but she has also become a source of encouragement for the people she works with. She reminds others that everyone has made mistakes, that every journey looks different, and that needing support does not mean someone has lost their chance at a better future.
At The Family Central, we get to witness moments of hope every day. Moments where someone takes a small step forward. Moments where someone starts to believe that change might actually be possible.
As we move closer to Journey for Change, Olivia’s story is a reminder that we never truly know what someone else has walked through. But we can choose to meet people with compassion, listen without judgment, and believe in the possibility of something new.
Because every person deserves the opportunity to write the next chapter of their story.
