The mandate of the Free Spirit Therapeutic Riding Association is to provide a safe environment for the enhancement of physical, emotional, educational and social development through therapeutic riding and horsemanship. Through the provision of equine assisted programming, we will work with people of all ages and abilities to achieve our mandate and the participants’ personal goals. We aspire to br

ing the benefits of therapeutic riding (including vaulting and driving), equine assisted therapy and hippotherapy to the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia, in partnership with the medical profession, social and psychological services, rehabilitation specialists, the equestrian community and others who support our mandate.

Looking to do something SUPER FUN this summer??

We are looking for volunteers for our 3-day summer camp!!
FSTRA Camp runs July 6th - 8th, from 9am - 2pm.

NO HORSE EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!!

Volunteer Requirements:
-Ages 15+
-Want to have fun!
-No horse experience is required!

Volunteers can fill a variety of roles with no minimum time commitment, 1 - 5 hours.

Summer Camp Volunteer Roles Include:
- Leaders (mornings only)
- Sidewalkers (mornings only)
- One-on-One Camper Supports
- Group Leaders

FSTRA is saddened to learn of the passing of one of our long time riders “King John”. John enjoyed many years of riding on his horses Toby and Jerry. His lessons were always filled with the best country music and he always had the best Halloween costumes! Our thoughts go out to his family during this difficult time he will be deeply missed.
