A BIG BRIGA-thank you to the Aylesford Lake community! 💙🏊

As we get ready to welcome The BIGSWIM to Brigadoon Village & Aylesford Lake, we are reflecting on how incredible it has been to watch our local community get excited about this event and, even more importantly, invest their time and energy to help make it happen.

The BIGSWIM is an incredible event put on by the GIVETOLIVE Association, whose support of Brigadoon and our campers has meant so much over the years. We’re thrilled to welcome their swimmers, paddlers, volunteers and supporters to our Village — and especially proud to see our own community rally around them.

From KingsCounty, our local home and cottage owners’ associations, the media, the Aylesford Lake Yacht Club and its members, to our neighbours around the lake — thank you, thank you, thank you. Your support has been incredible.

At Brigadoon, we approach everything through a lens of safety, and this weekend is no different. With swimmers, paddlers and support boats on the water, the public boat launch will be temporarily closed during the event. We recognize the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work together to keep our swimmers and everyone on Aylesford Lake safe.

There is something pretty special about seeing GIVETOLIVE, Brigadoon and the Aylesford Lake community come together around a shared purpose.

Here’s to a great day, safe swimming, and lots of cheering from the shoreline!

Camp magic, coming to a screen near you! 💙💻✨

Join us for Virtual Heart Camp on November 28, 2026 all from the comfort of your own home!

Open to children and youth ages 6–16 living with congenital heart disease. The day will be packed with quiz games, a sharing circle, arts & crafts and plenty of opportunities to connect with other campers who just get it. ❤️

A BIG Briga-thank you to Mirum Pharmaceuticals for their generous sponsorship of Camp Live-It-Up! 💚✨

Camp Live-It-Up brings together children and youth living with liver disease for a week at Brigadoon Village, and while there is A LOT of Camp fun packed into those days, what campers take home with them can go much further.

It’s finding friends who understand your experience without needing a big explanation.

It’s the building of friendships that makes you excited to see each other again next summer.

It’s trying something you weren’t sure you could do…

And discovering that maybe you can.

It’s practicing independence, speaking up for what you need and learning to advocate for yourself.

And it’s getting to spend a week being a kid at Camp — trying new things, laughing with friends, getting a little silly and making the kinds of memories you’ll still be talking about when you get home.
