Talent is everywhere. Opportunity must be too.

On the International Day of the Girl, InnoHive celebrates girls as learners, problem-solvers, innovators and trailblazers.

Equal access to STEM and digital learning is not only about opening classroom doors; it is about ensuring girls are encouraged to experiment, contribute and envision themselves shaping the future.

Let’s continue building learning environments where every girl’s questions are welcomed, her curiosity is encouraged and her ideas are valued.

Every learner’s journey begins with a spark of inspiration and teachers help turn that spark into a lifelong passion for learning.

On World Teachers’ Day, we thank the educators, facilitators and school partners who transform curiosity into knowledge, confidence and practical skills. Their work empowers learners to experiment, ask better questions, solve problems and imagine futures in STEM, agriculture, sustainability and beyond.

Thank you to everyone who makes learning safe, accessible and inspiring.

What if the things we call “waste” could become the start of something useful?

October is Circular Economy Month in Canada. At our Circular Connect events, families and individuals explored that idea firsthand - learning about composting, growing food, repairing, reusing, and finding new purposes for everyday materials.

A circular economy keeps resources in use for longer and helps reduce waste from the start. Through Circular Connect, Inno-Hive is helping York Region residents discover practical ways to bring those ideas into their homes and communities.

What is one thing you’ve repaired, reused, regrown, or composted recently?

Food is essential to life, but every meal also represents valuable land, water, energy and human effort. Reducing food loss and waste helps protect both people and the resources we all depend on.

On the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, InnoHive is highlighting a practical action plan: plan carefully, use what you have, share safe surplus food and compost unavoidable scraps.

Through Circular Connect, we help York Region residents explore simple habits they can practise at home to reduce waste and contribute to a more circular economy.

What is your most reliable food-saving habit?

Literacy extends far beyond reading and writing. It is a pathway to understanding the world as it is, learning from what it was and imagining what it could become.

As the world marks the 60th anniversary of International Literacy Day, InnoHive celebrates every learner, educator and community partner helping to build a more accessible and inclusive ecosystem of knowledge.

While more than 88% of the world’s adult population can read and write today, approximately 739 million young people and adults still lack basic literacy skills.

Under this year’s theme, “Literacy for People, Planet and Prosperity,” we are reminded that literacy is not simply a skill; it is a foundation for participation, opportunity and lifelong learning.
