The ELC is a new initiative of the Workforce Planning Board of York Region and Bradford, West Gwillimbury; a partnership of York Region and South Simcoe’s employers, employment service providers, educators and policy makers. Together they bring a diverse representation of employers across the region to develop relationships and share knowledge in order to help our members hire and retain the employees they need today and in the future.

🩺 Launch your career in the Canadian health care industry!

Bridge to Health Care Alternatives Online (B2HCAO) is a free program for internationally educated health care professionals, delivered by Welcome Centre Immigrant Services and Job Skills. The November session runs online from November 3 to 20, 2026, with workshops on Canadian workplace values, health care terminology and job search strategies, plus a professional mentor, a work placement and virtual employer networking events.

📦 FedDev Ontario has expanded its Regional Tariff Response Initiative for southern Ontario businesses affected by tariffs.

Eligible businesses can apply for non-repayable funding of up to $2 million to help manage tariff-related financial pressures and retain employees. Up to $1 million is also available for projects that improve productivity or help businesses reach new markets. Funding covers up to 50% of eligible costs.
