Important LTIS Start-Up Information

LTIS families, we’re getting ready for a great new school year! Please take a look at the important start-up dates and reminders in the graphic below.

Please review the handbook and join in our LTIS Student SWAG Challenge!

Hidden throughout the handbook are five mystery phrases for families to find.

Once you’ve found all five mystery phrases:

1) Include all five phrases and your student’s name on your entry.
2) Bring your entry to the LTIS front office or email it to [email protected]. A printable entry form is available at the bottom of the handbook if you’d like to use it, but it is not required. Simply provide the requested information on a piece of paper or in your email.

Entries are due Friday, September 11, 2026.

All completed entries will be entered into a draw for some LTIS Student SWAG!

📣 Friendly Reminder – LTIS Fundraising Society AGM

Our LTIS Fundraising Society AGM is coming up!

📅 September 23rd
⏰ 5:00 p.m.

We’d love to see our LTIS families and community members join us!

The LTIS Fundraising Society plays an important role in supporting our students. Over the years, funds raised by the Society have helped:

* 🛝 Build our school playground
* 🧗 Recently help fund the new climbing wall in the small gym
* 🚌 Pay for busing for student field trips
* ❤️ Support many other activities, opportunities, and improvements that benefit our students throughout the school year

We also really need your help.

We are currently in urgent need of a Treasurer and Casino Director to join our board. These positions are essential for the Fundraising Society to continue operating. Without these key positions filled, our organization will unfortunately cease to exist—and so will the fundraising support we are able to provide to LTIS students.

And the time commitment is very manageable! We meet just once a month for approximately one hour.

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, this is the year we truly need you. A small commitment of your time can make a very big difference for our students.

Please join us on September 23rd at 5:00 p.m. to learn more, get involved, or simply show your support.

📢 Save the Date!

The LTIS Fundraising Society Annual General Meeting (AGM) is tentatively scheduled for September 23rd.

🕔 5:00 PM – School Council AGM
🕔 Immediately Following – LTIS Fundraising Society AGM

This is an important meeting for the future of both School Council and the LTIS Fundraising Society.

We are currently in need of volunteers to fill two key positions:
👉 Treasurer
👉 Casino Director

As a parent-run, volunteer organization, these positions are essential to the continued operation of the Fundraising Society. Without a Treasurer, the Society cannot continue to function as required, which would impact our ability to support many of the programs, opportunities, and enhancements that benefit LTIS students.

If you’ve ever considered becoming more involved in your school community, this is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference. The time commitment is manageable, and you’ll be working alongside a dedicated group of parents who care about our school and students.

We encourage all parents and guardians to attend, learn more about what we do, and consider how they might be able to help.

Together, we can continue to provide great opportunities for LTIS students.

Join us on June 3rd at 5:00 PM at LTIS for our School Council Meeting, followed immediately by the LTIS Fundraising Society meeting.

This is a chance to:
• Hear what’s happening at the school
• Share ideas and opinions
• Connect directly with school administration
• Get involved in helping support our students and school community

Your child’s time at LTIS goes by quickly, and this is a great way to stay connected and make a difference while they’re here.

Happy Mother’s Day from the LTIS Fundraising Society! 💐

Today we celebrate all of the incredible moms, grandmas, caregivers, and mother figures in our school community.

We see you volunteering, supporting fundraisers, attending events, helping behind the scenes, and always showing up for your kids and our school.

Thank you for the countless ways you help make LTIS such a wonderful community for our students. Your time, care, and support truly make a difference.

We hope you have a beautiful and well-deserved Mother’s Day! 💙

Hi everyone, welcome to our new page!

We tried to gain access to the old fundraising society page, but unfortunately didn’t get a response, and it doesn’t appear to be actively managed anymore. So, we’re branching out and starting fresh going forward.

We also want to recognize and sincerely thank the previous fundraising society board members for all of the time, effort, and dedication they’ve put in over the years. The impact they’ve had on our school and community has been huge, and starting this new page is by no means meant to diminish the work they’ve done; it’s something we truly appreciate and want to build on.

We’ll use this page to keep families and community members updated on things like our upcoming AGM, what’s happening at the school, the impact our fundraising society has, and ways people can get involved.

Our casino fundraiser has a huge impact on our school. It helps pay for things like field trip busing, playground equipment and playground repairs, and other important supports that would be very difficult for the school to cover on its own.

The commitment is small, but the impact is huge. We usually meet once a month during the school year, and the meetings are quick. The casino fundraiser usually happens every 18–24 months and requires 13 volunteers over the course of two evenings.

We are currently looking for a Casino Director and a Treasurer. Unfortunately, our board will not be able to continue operating without the Treasurer position being filled.

We need a full, functioning board to keep this going. Once casino opportunities are lost, they can be very hard to get back.

Please feel free to share this page with family and friends and invite others to like and follow along. It would be a shame to lose something that provides such important support to our students and school community.

The LTIS Fundraising Society is looking for a couple of new board members, and we’d love to have you join us!

We are currently looking for:
👉 Treasurer
👉 Casino Director

We’re a parent-run, non-profit group that supports our school through fundraising initiatives—our main one being our casino fundraiser in Fort McMurray. We typically meet once a month during the school year, making it a manageable way to get involved and give back.

You’ll be part of a great group of families working together to support our students.

Our final meeting for the 2025/2026 school year will be on June 3rd following the LTIS School Council Meeting at 5pm.
