Huge thank you to Arthur Lions Club for providing Christmas hampers to families in our community. Your kindness made the season brighter for 92 families! All the services/events your club provide in this community do not go unnoticed. 🎄❤️

Our Community at Its Best 🎄

On December 17 and 18, the Arthur Lions Club proudly assembled and distributed 92 Christmas hampers to support individuals and families in need right here in our community. Now in its 86th year, this program continues to show what’s possible when caring people come together.

A heartfelt thank you to every person, business, and organization that made this year’s hampers possible:

• Arthur Food Bank – for guidance and donating non-perishable items collected at the Santa Claus Parade
• Wellington County Learning Centre – for helping recipients complete and submit applications
• TD Canada Trust – for hosting the Giving Tree, collecting gifts, and assisting community members
• Arthur OPTIMRS – for generously purchasing gifts for multiple families
• Schools and churches – for running food drives and providing cash donations
• Local businesses – for donating meat, eggs, milk and non-perishable goods
• All donors – for financial contributions that helped fill the gaps
• Families who purchased brand-new toys and clothes to help children in need
• Christmas Time In Arthur – for collecting food and monetary contributions
• Arthur Foodland and Fergus Zehrs staff – for assistance with ordering and storing fresh products
• Teachers from Arthur Public School – for assembling the non-perishable items
• Staff from Canarm AgSystems who swooped in on the Thursday and helped assemble fresh produce boxes
• Arthur Area Curling Club – for providing their space as our command centre
• Arthur Lions Club members – for sorting, assembling, organizing, purchasing outstanding food items and toys, and distributing every hamper

This effort is a true testament to the generosity and heart of our community.
Because of you, local families will celebrate this holiday season with dignity, warmth, and joy.

Thank you Cover-Ups Carpet and Flooring for doing this and thank you to all who purchased and donated. What a wonderful community we live in. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without you.

✨We were honoured to welcome Shawna and Terri from the Arthur Food Bank to collect the donation from our recent fundraising online auction.✨

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, $1,215 was raised — including a generous $100 donation from one of our customers.🙌

We’re deeply grateful to the dedicated volunteers at the Arthur Foodbank whose hard work and compassion make such a meaningful difference for local families every day!👏👏

Applications Now Open for the Arthur Lions Club Christmas Hamper Program! 🎄

If you or someone you know could use a little extra support this holiday season, applications for the 2025 Christmas Hamper Program are now available. Forms can be picked up in person at the Wellington County Learning Centre – 148 George Street, Arthur.

Key Dates & Details:
▪️Application Deadline: December 11
▪️Hamper Pick-Up: Thursday, December 18 at the Arthur Area Curling Club
▪️Who Can Apply: Families in need within the Arthur area. Proof of residency is required. While we do our best to assist as many households as possible, participation is not guaranteed.
