The Bay of Fundy Sea Kayaking Symposium is a 3 day event that combines world class coaching with intermediate paddlers in one of the most spectacular coastal settings on earth. The 6th Semi-annual Bay of Fundy Sea Kayak Symposium encourages all paddlers to join us for a weekend of sea kayaking in one of the most dynamic paddling environments in the world. As the Bay of Fundy is home to the highest

tides in the world you will be exposed to a diversity of paddling locations within Southwestern Nova Scotia providing opportunities to develop and refine your skills among tidal currents, ocean surf, rock gardens and the open coast. Come join us in Argyle, Nova Scotia on September 10-12, 2021 and allow the tidal waters to support new friendships, encourage skill development and share your passion for paddling!

It’s with a heavy heart that we share the news that the 2026 Bay of Fundy Sea Kayak Symposium has been cancelled.

Our goal was to reach 40 participants by March 25 in order to move forward with planning—confirming our coaching team, arranging accommodations, and booking travel. Unfortunately, we didn’t reach that number this year. While there’s no single reason we can point to, this is where we’ve landed.

We want to sincerely thank all the students who committed early, as well as the coaches who stepped forward to help deliver what we know is a truly special event. Your support and enthusiasm mean a great deal.

The organizing committee will reconnect in the fall of 2026 to explore the possibility of running the symposium in 2027. Stay tuned for updates—and as always, we look forward to seeing you on the water.

It’s with real disappointment that we’re reaching out today to let you know that the 2025 Bay of Fundy Sea Kayak Symposium has been postponed to September 11–13, 2026.

We had high hopes for the 2025 event and put in a tremendous amount of effort behind the scenes—selecting a top-tier coaching team, designing a dynamic schedule, securing housing and meals, and coordinating logistics. However, by July 1st, registration numbers were simply not where they needed to be in order to responsibly move forward.

We were surprised and disheartened by the lack of early commitment. In order for an event of this size to succeed, we must make significant financial commitments months in advance—booking flights, confirming accommodations, and reserving key locations. Without enough students registered early, it’s simply not feasible for us to take on the risk.

We understand that committing early isn’t always easy, but early registrations are essential to make events like this happen. We believe deeply in the value of this symposium—for skill development, personal growth, and connection within the paddling community—and we hope that belief will be reflected in stronger support for the 2026 dates.

For those already registered, we’ll be in touch shortly to ask whether you’d prefer a full refund or if you'd like to hold your spot for 2026.
