Message from MASC:
With recent flooding impacting many regions across Manitoba, we recognize this is a difficult and stressful time for many producers. We wanted to share a few important reminders about MASC programs and upcoming deadlines that may support your members.
Excess Moisture Insurance (EMI)
EMI provides coverage when excess moisture (flooding or continued rainfall) prevents acres from being seeded.
• Acres must have been ready for seeding on or before June 20 to be eligible.
• This includes perennial forage, sod, and pasture acres if they were destroyed by June 10 and ready for seeding.

Greenfeed Insurance
• Producers have the option of cutting and baling crops originally intended for harvest as greenfeed.
• Producers must contact MASC in advance to allow for an appraisal before harvest.
• Acres eligible for EMI claims or that have been drowned out, may be seeded to greenfeed after June 20, but the original claim must be reported first and greenfeed selected for coverage.
• Full coverage applies if seeded by June 20; greenfeed seeded June 21–July 15 is eligible for extended coverage (20% reduction), with a Supplementary SAR due by July 31.

Reseed Benefit
Producers who have experienced early-season crop loss due to designated perils may be eligible for a reseed benefit.
• Reseed claims apply to losses occurring on or before June 20 (for most crops).
• A reseed benefit applies when the original crop is reseeded to the same or another insured crop by the applicable deadline.
• To start a claim, producers should contact an MASC Service Centre. Information submitted on the Seeded Acreage Report will be used to process payments.

Contract Price Option (CPO)
• Producers participating in CPO must submit their contracted prices by June 30.
• This option allows contract prices to be blended with insurable values to better reflect expected revenue.
• Even if crops have been impacted by flooding, producers with forward contracts can still submit prices and remain eligible.

Seeded Acreage Report (SAR)
• The deadline to file Seeded Acreage Reports without late fees is June 30 (before midnight).
• Filing is required to support claims and maintain coverage.
• Reports can be submitted by:
o Emailing a scanned copy
o Dropping off at an MASC Service Centre (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
o Completing online through myMASC
