We will hosting a mock search tomorrow (Saturday May 16th). You may see increased activity of SAR and RCMP personnel. This is a collaborative training exercise used to hone the skills of our emergency responders and work together with other agencies to build on our teamwork and operations.

Mock Search I

We train. And we train again.
In March, SAGSAR members had a mock search right in our backyard. Teams were able to combine all the skills that they work on throughout the year, honing them in to then test them in the field together!

Members practiced command post set up, compass, and GPS navigation, search techniques, clue awareness, communications, first aid and extraction.

It was an excellent full scale training scenario led by our fantastic training officer. It’s an honour to train, so that we are ready when you need us.

Found Safe!

The child reported missing from Antigonish, on April 1, has been safely located.

The RCMP thanks Nova Scotians for assisting with missing person files through social media shares and offering tips.
