This Week in Amherstburg News (1932) - Simrall Plant Swings Into Production

Simrall Refining Corporation’s plant in Anderdon officially began operations. Located along the riverfront, the facility processed crude oil transported by rail into gasoline, kerosene, and fuel oil. Less than a year later, the corporation went bankrupt, and the plant was advertised for sale. More on this industry will be published in our June newsletter: https://www.marshcollection.org/newsletter/

This Week in Amherstburg News (1954), Mayor Warren officially proclaimed May 27th as “Columbian Squire Day” in Amherstburg. The initiative, supported by the Town Council, gave local youth a chance to step into leadership roles within the community.
