After nearly three decades in policing, 30 years coaching elite athletes, and a lifetime spent mentoring and developing leaders, I've learned something that has stayed with me throughout my career.

**Leadership doesn't begin with a title or a position. It begins with character, how we conduct ourselves, the decisions we make, and how we treat people along the way.**

That belief became the foundation of my first book, **FINDING YOUR GRANITE: My Four Cornerstones of Personal Leadership.**

I wrote this book to share some of the experiences that shaped me, including the challenges I faced, the mistakes I made, the successes I enjoyed, and, perhaps most importantly, the lessons I learned along the way.

Throughout my life, I've tried to remain grounded in four personal leadership principles:

🔹 HONOUR
🔹 INTEGRITY
🔹 PASSION
🔹 ACCOUNTABILITY

These aren't simply words I put into a book. They're principles I've tried to live by, both personally and professionally. Have I always gotten everything right? Absolutely not. But I've learned that leadership isn't about being perfect. It's about being accountable, learning from our experiences, and continuing to grow.

Through the book's four sections—*The Struggle, Dash Leadership, Four Cornerstones of Personal Leadership,* and *Rise Up and Excel*—I encourage readers to look back at who they were, reflect honestly on who they are today, and think carefully about the person they want to become.

My second book, **IRONWILL 360° Leadership: Moving Forward**, takes those principles a step further.

After spending years working with police officers, supervisors, athletes, coaches, and organizational leaders, I wanted to explore twelve emerging leadership trends and what they mean for those entrusted with leading others.

I believe we must first learn to lead ourselves before we can effectively lead, mentor, and develop the people who depend on us.

That's how these two books complement each other. One focuses on building the foundation of personal leadership. The other examines how we can build upon that foundation to become more effective leaders in an ever-changing world.

Whether you're a first responder, business leader, coach, educator, parent, or someone simply trying to become a better version of yourself, I believe there's something in these books that may help you along your journey.

Turn 60 this week!!! Been a helluva year of personal and mental growth. SGB saved me and finally turned down the "PTSD noise" and brought "light to my darkness" Truly looking forward to this milestone and line in the sand for new beginnings.

Today we celebrated our 700th workout!!! Jan 2024 we began this journey and .pflug.1 and I have totally transformed our bodies with increased lean muscle mass, reduced fat %, inches lost and overall fitness. Proud to be part of this and had an extra 700 date with my BF/Wife. .
