Are you looking for a place to relax, chat with other parents & caregivers, or just have some “adult time”? We offer a place away from the routines of home, where you and your children can play, learn, and meet other parents. Maggie’s Place also offers FREE programs for adults and children including prenatal/postnatal support, child development programs for preschoolers, and programs for school ag

ed children, youth and teens. Maggie’s Place will gladly answer your questions regarding parenting, pregnancy, nutrition, and many more issues. A Family Resource Centre is a warm and welcoming place in the community where any family member can go, not only in times of need, but as a regular part of day-to-day life. Family Resource Centre’s offer parent education classes, child development activities, parent-to-parent support groups, health information, referrals and many other programs, activities and services. These services are modified and added to, depending on the needs and desires of local families. Family Resource Centre’s are unique in their approach to working with families: they build families’ strengths and capacities, serve as a hub for the community, work for positive social change, and offer help in a supportive environment. Parents act as resources in many capacities, from serving on a decision-making board, participating in Centre programs and learning job skills.

It’s that time of year again!!! School is almost out for students and teachers but, at Maggie’s Place we’re already planning for next year!

When you’re cleaning out those backpacks please keep us in mind!

We are looking for NEW & like New School Supplies for our Back to School Program! Backpacks, lunch bags, binders, unused scribblers, coloured pencils, calculators etc!

Monetary donations also accepted by etransfer to [email protected] with School Supplies noted in the notes. Thank you to all those who support this program!!! We couldn't do it without your generous donations!

All youth ages 10-18 are invited to join us at the park this Thursday June 18th from 3:00pm-5:00pm (weather permitting) for picnic snacks, activities, games, and good company. There will be no YDI at Youth Space Cumberland on this day. We can't wait to see you there! 🐞🥪🌳

Need some inspiration for after-school snacks? We have just the thing! Join us for a short and sweet family workshop on healthy, child-friendly snacks! We will be trying out some simple recipes that you and your children can make at home together - plus we'll send you home with the ingredients to make some of them after the program too.

Happening Wednesday, June 24th from 5:30pm-6:30pm - we will have snacks made to try as well as give the opportunity and materials to make them here too. Please note that this is a parent/caregiver & child program :)

Are you curious about your child's development? Are you wondering if they are reaching their milestones on schedule? Are they starting school in the Fall and you want to check in on how their development is progressing?
During the week of July 13-17, Maggie's Place, in partnership with Nova Scotia Early Childhood Development Services, will be offering Ages & Stages Developmental Clinics for children, 2 months to 60 months of age.
