Pet Valu has chosen CARMA to be the recipient of the donations for Pet Appreciate Month during June. Please drop into the store and purchase a “Paw” to help us help many more kitties in need. We can help spay and neuter more homeless and colony cats with your help! You can also / or purchase an item from their selection of wet or dry food they have in the store as a donation as well. It will help us stock up for fall and winter where we help feed colonies if kitties during the cold winter months… but we don’t want to think about that just yet… especially since we still seem to be experiencing what feels like cold winter mornings recently. Seriously… we would appreciate any and all support during Pet Appreciation Month. More information to follow about some events during the month. Thank you so very much to Natalie and Rob for their support.

June is Pet Appreciation Month, and you can help make a difference for pets in need! When you buy a donation paw, you’ll be directly supporting pet causes in your local community.

This is why it is IMPERATIVE that spaying and neutering is included in adoptions for all rescue groups and shelters… because saying you found “good homes” does not guarantee kittens will be spayed or neutered. And also why it is so important to have a low cost spay and neuter program in our communities. Please make sure you sign the petition posted in this group a few days ago. I will “pin” it for easy access

We recently took into care an older cat, adopted from a “reputable” shelter a number of years ago… she was never spayed…so no matter what people say they will do, or how many pieces of paper they sign saying they “promise” they will spay or neuter, the only way to ensure they do is to include it in their adoption fee (because if they pay for it upfront they will want it done…) and follow up! Thank you to Spay Day House for the important work they do. They operate a low cost spay and neuter program for HRM with HRM contributing to help operate the program … the rest of the Province needs to follow suit. Please sign the Petition. Thank you

Thank you in advance for your support. PS. The PINK sign in in honour of Bonnie who along with her husband Sterling who has fallen into this by default and Trina McInnis who have all worked so hard to make this event happen. And to all the people who have donated… We thank you all so much! ♥️

Happy Friday everyone! CARMA will be participating in the Community Wide Yardsale… and we need your help!

We are looking for donations for our yardsale. Funds from our yardsale go directly to our TNR (trap-neuter-return) program that helps spay and neuter cats that live in colonies such a barns, etc where populations can grown quickly becoming both an economical and emotional strain on caregivers. Farms do not, and most especially these days, have the resources to undertake spaying and neutering all the cats in their farms without help. It is the best way to help address the overpopulation problem in our communities… spaying and neutering is the answer… the most humane answer.

CARMA does not have any paid staff, we are ALL volunteers. CARMA does not receive any ongoing financial support from municipal or provincial government /organizations. Everything we are able to do or help with us done through on-going fundraising efforts by our volunteers or donations from our supporters ♥️. And, everything raised goes directly towards helping cats!

But… we can’t do what we do without the community’s support.

If you are able to donate items for our yardsale… we would be very grateful for your support. You can drop off any and all items to 237 East Victoria St ( you can leave under the carport) or you can drop off at 73 Rupert Street (can be left on the back step - driveway side on Dunlop St).

Thank you for choosing to help cats that society forgets… they are important and they need help! Thank you for your help ♥️🐈‍⬛♥️🐈‍⬛♥️
