This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for community.

Across Lanark County, people show up for one another in so many ways — by volunteering, lending a hand, checking in on a neighbour, supporting a friend, or simply making someone feel welcome.

We’re especially grateful for the people who make the work of the Lanark Community Alliance possible every day: the staff, volunteers, families, community partners and supporters behind Carebridge Community Support, Community Living Association – Lanark County, Clayton Seniors Housing Corporation, and Tayside Community Residential and Support Options.

Together, these organizations support people across our communities in ways that help create connection, independence, belonging and a stronger quality of life.

Thank you to everyone who gives their time, care and energy to make Lanark County a community where people can thrive.

Everyone deserves a place to call home.

On World Homeless Day, we’re thinking about the people in our communities who are struggling to find safe, stable and affordable housing — and about the people working hard to change that.

Here in Perth, that work is becoming a reality.

Carebridge Community Support’s 15-unit affordable housing project at 63 Halton Street is nearing completion, with tenants expected to begin moving in soon.

Behind those 15 homes is an incredible amount of work, dedication and collaboration. Thank you to the many people, organizations, partners, volunteers and supporters who have worked so hard to bring this project from an idea to reality.

For the people who will soon call 63 Halton Street home, this means more than a place to live. It means having a safe, affordable place to put down roots and be part of the community.

There is still more work to do but today is a good day to recognize what can happen when a community comes together around a shared need.

We’re pleased to share that Tayside Community Residential and Support Options has officially joined the Lanark Community Alliance.

Tayside becomes the newest member of LCA, joining Carebridge Community Support , Community Living Association – Lanark County, and Clayton Seniors Housing Corporation.

Like every LCA member, Tayside will continue to operate under its own name, with its own programs, services, and community relationships.

We’re proud to welcome the Tayside team and look forward to what we can accomplish together.
