Alert Bay Artfest Alert Bay's Annual Artfest takes place Seafest Weekend at the Netloft on the Government Dock the 4th wknd of July. Celebrate Alert Bay's amazing artists!

Alert Bay Artfest began in 2008 in response to seeing artists having to leave the island to exhibit their artwork. 10 local artists and art lovers organized the first annual Artfest to coincide with Seafest in 2008. The venue was the former Lion’s Den and the reviews were rave! The following year needed a bigger venue to accommodate the growing interest from local artists, and with the help of Van

ce Conway, the Netloft was transformed into an art haven for 3 days, showcasing the work of 18 local artists. 2010 featured 25 Alert Bay resident artists and 2011 included 29 artists - many different from the previous years! Each year since has seen more artists join and an average of $4000 of art sold within the 3 days, with artist's keeping 100% profit of the sales.
