June is , a time to learn about the distinct cultures, traditions and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples.

It is an opportunity to honour their stories, achievements and enduring resilience. Indigenous Peoples have lived on this land since time immemorial, and their presence continues to shape the Canada we know today.

May is , recognizing the important role of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology in helping children and youth build communication and hearing skills.

At Grandview Kids, speech-language pathologists, communicative disorders assistants and audiologists support children and youth with speaking, listening, reading, writing and playing with others. Support may include one-to-one therapy, group programs, workshops and caregiver education. They work closely with families to create care plans based on each child’s needs, strengths and interests to help them reach their full potential.

Watch as Grandview Kids parents, Ankit and Mansi, share their daughter Ahaana’s journey with profound hearing loss and finding hope through Grandview Kids. With early support, speech therapy and help from the Grandview Kids community, Ahaana is now humming, dancing and building connections. Ahaana's story shows how care, technology and support can open new possibilities.

is celebrated each May to recognize the vital role physiotherapists play in supporting health and mobility. At Grandview Kids, physiotherapists help children and youth improve strength, balance and gross motor skills so they can live, learn and play.

Here is a quote from Grandview Kids Natalie D.:

“Physiotherapy plays an important role in overall health and well-being. At Grandview, physiotherapy supports children in moving with greater confidence, helping them explore new activities, build independence and discover new adventures.
What I enjoy most about being a physiotherapist is helping children gain confidence through movement and celebrating each milestone alongside them.”

May 24 to 30 marks , a time to celebrate the contributions of Canadians with disabilities and promotes barrier‑free, inclusive communities. This year’s theme, “Building a Strong, Accessible Canada,” highlights their leadership and calls on organizations to remove systemic barriers. The week encourages individuals, workplaces and institutions to support accessibility efforts and help create a country where everyone can participate fully.

At Grandview Kids, we support inclusive care to help every child and youth live to their fullest potential. We also advance inclusion through our Ability Acceptance Program, which helps local businesses, schools, licensed child-care centres and community groups build more inclusive environments.

People with physical, communication and developmental needs often face stigma, stereotyping and exclusion in daily life. The program enhances understanding, promotes acceptance and fosters a sense of belonging for everyone in the community.

Mitchell Daniels, our Ability Acceptance Presenter, shares seven tips to help support accessibility.
