Congratulations to all the cadets involved in the displays, they were wonderful!

At our Annual Ceremonial Review on June 13, we had the chance to promote our cadets. We promoted cadets to Able Cadet all the way to Petty Officer Second Class. Bravo Zulu!

We also had the unfortunate task of sending cadets Over the Side. Fair winds and following seas to CPO1 (retired) Burkholder, CPO1 Ahmed, CPO2 Reuel Baldivicio, CPO2 Benedet, CPO2 Camilleri, PO1 Nambiar, PO2 Adeleye and PO2 Amalan.

This is a message for anyone attending today’s Annual Ceremonial Review and Change of Command. Parking is very limited, as there is also another event being held on the Village Arena grounds. There is parking available next door at Pickering High and across Church St at Lincoln Alexander Public School. However, those spots will also likely be in short supply so plan accordingly.

This past Wednesday, we had our Ceremonial Divisions night. It was largely used to prepare for our upcoming ACR. We had the honour of having LCdr (Ret’d) Peter Danks from the HMS AJAX and River Plate Veterans Association as our Reviewing Officer, as well as other members and Ajax Ward 2 Councillor, Nancy Henry, in attendance. The cadets were able to practice and perform the numerous displays that are part of the program for Annual.

Additionally, the Captain Tubby Squires Award, one of the only awards that the Cadets themselves have a say in, was presented. It was originally donated to us on their 40th Anniversary visit in 2016. This award is voted by the corps and given to the cadet who they believe has contributed significantly to the overall success of the corps by being a positive example, helpful, and maintaining high standards of dress and deportment.

The cadet awarded with this award this year was CPO1 Ahmed, H. Congratulations Chief!

Another successful sail weekend! Although on Saturday it was a bit too windy for them to go out, on Sunday, the cadets got a nice, full, day out on the water! For most of them, sailing is a new skill, so bravo zulu to all those cadets who put themselves out of their comfort zones, tried a new thing, and had fun while doing it!
