Durham Family and Cultural Centre

Durham Family and Cultural Centre Empowering Lives. Building Community. Durham Family and Cultural Centre is a non-profit organization, established in February 2019.

DFCC is a Durham-based organization that provides a space for members of the Black community, and other racialized and diverse groups to engage in programming that empowers their lives. We are the only organization of its kind in the Durham region established to meet the social and culturally specific needs of this growing population. Our mission is achieved through culturally focused programs suc

h as counselling, parenting, education, mentorship, and child and youth development programs. DFCC is governed by volunteer board members that represent the diverse make-up of the Black-Canadian population, including parents/caregivers and working professionals. We are committed to helping meet the needs of our community.

β€œTHIS IS COMMUNITY.” Words from our ED!

This wasn’t an event that took place. This was a call - a commission to the residents of Durham Region to BE the ones who support us, who protect us, who care for us. It’s time to truly unite as the community.

πŸ’Ό Got an idea you believe in? This is your space to build it. Over three Friday sessions, youth will learn how to turn concepts into real ventures while developing practical business skills that open doors. We will guide participants through planning, creating, and launching with confidence, plus mentorship from those who’ve done it themselves.
