Proudly supporting Krista Laing for Secretary Treasurer ❣️
I’m running for CUPE Ontario Secretary-Treasurer because I believe members deserve leadership that treats their dues with the same respect they do their own paycheques. I believe our union finances should be used to build worker power.
Over the past several years, I’ve served as a Local President, Municipal Workers Chair, Labour Council leader, bargaining team member, organizer, and strike supporter. Through every role, one thing has stayed clear to me: accountability matters.
Members work too hard for their money for us to accept weak oversight, closed-door decision-making, or a culture where people are expected to just “trust the process.” Financial stewardship means transparency. It means responsible budgeting. It means making sure our resources are being used to organize workers, support locals, strengthen bargaining, and build real member power across this province.
I’ve helped manage budgets, oversee operations, support organizing drives, coordinate campaigns, and negotiate strong contracts without concessions. I know what it means to stretch resources while still delivering results for members.
I’ve also seen firsthand that solidarity is not built through slogans alone. It’s built by showing up on picket lines, supporting locals in struggle, educating members, and making sure our union is prepared for the fights ahead.
The way forward is simple:
• Transparent finances
• Strong accountability
• Investments in member organizing and outreach
• Real support for locals
• A union built from the ground up — by members, for members
Our members deserve a union that is militant in defending workers, disciplined in managing finances, and fearless about building power. That’s the leadership I’m fighting for.
