A couple of before & afters from today! 🙌

We had such an incredible crew of YVC volunteers out helping clean up the grounds after the Crossfield Elks Derby. From cans to garbage, these youth worked hard to leave the area looking great, and we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts! 💪🌎

A special highlight: Alan was so impressed with the team’s dedication and work ethic! 😊

🚨 We need your support!

The response to YVC Airdrie’s programs has been incredible. In fact, our program experienced 80% growth last year, showing just how much youth and families in our community value these opportunities.
But with this growth comes a challenge:
The demand for our programs is greater than our financial resources.

We are raising $15,000 through our Walk for Compassion Fundraiser to ensure we can continue delivering high-quality programming to the youth who need it most.

Last night at Abrio, the YVC Airdrie team put in a lot of elbow grease and raised $100 for our program.

🌱 Great Night at the Garden! 🔨💚

What a fantastic night with YVC Airdrie at the garden! With the help of our amazing youth volunteers and the Men’s Shed, we made some incredible progress on the greenhouse — all four walls and the base are now complete! 🙌

15 youth volunteers joining us tonight, to assist with the garden and build!

The evening wasn’t just about building. Laurie also led a meaningful conversation about food insecurity, helping our youth better understand the challenges facing members of our community.

We also spent time talking about the Walk for Compassion and how we can continue making a difference together. ❤️

Nights like this are what YVC is all about — learning new skills, serving our community, building relationships, and having a little fun along the way!

So proud of these incredible young people and everyone who continues to invest in building a stronger community. 🌱💚

Friends, We Need Your Help!

Many of you know how passionate we are about volunteering and supporting youth development. That’s why the YVC Airdrie team is excited to once again host our Annual Walk for Compassion this September.

The YVC Airdrie Youth Program has helped countless young people build confidence, develop life and professional skills, learn about safety and diversity, and discover the power of giving back to their community.

What makes this program truly special is that it is completely free for youth ages 11-18. Every young person deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, lead, and make a difference, regardless of their circumstances.

To continue providing these life-changing experiences, we need your support.

What a rewarding evening in the garden! 🌻
We harvested lots of goodies, including our very first zucchini of the season! 🥒

A huge thank you to Ian for sharing honeycomb with each child and teaching them all about bees and their important role in our ecosystem 🐝🍯. Thank you as well to Bill from the Ag Society for teaching the youth about biennial seed harvesting and where our food begins.

The kids even dug up their own potatoes to take home, and enjoyed plenty of fresh raspberries along the way. Safe to say there were full bellies and happy smiles all around! ❤️

Small but Mighty. Big Impact. ❤️

Last night, our Airdrie Small But Mighty crew showed what community is all about. Even with a smaller team, we still managed to clean out 2 donation bins for the Airdrie Food Bank.

The reality is that the need in our community continues to grow. The Food Bank is currently seeing 100-200 visits every day, and more than 500 hampers can be distributed each month to support local individuals and families.

This isn’t just a statistic. These are our neighbours, friends, coworkers, and community members who may be facing difficult times.

If you’re able, please consider supporting the Airdrie Food Bank. Whether it’s donating food, making a financial contribution, organizing a workplace food drive, or simply spreading awareness, every act of kindness helps.

Together, we can make sure no one in our community goes without the support they need. 💙

🎉 What a fantastic night at ACC Bingo Night! 🎉

Last night, our youth were engaged, respectful, and full of enthusiasm as they joined community members for an evening of bingo and fun. The excitement of the games was matched by the meaningful intergenerational connections that were built throughout the night.

It was wonderful to see young people and older adults sharing laughs, stories, and friendly competition together. Thank you to ACC for hosting such a memorable evening!
