Thank you so much to everybody who came by to see us at the Abbotsford Flea Market on Sunday. We raised $60 to help BC Sphynx Rescue with their cats upcoming specialist appointment tomorrow.

We also had the pleasure of seeing this handsome guy! Oakley was adopted last year and boy what a transformation now that he’s all grown up! Seeing Oakley was definitely the highlight of the day💜

We will be back at it this coming Sunday so hopefully we’ll see some more of you then

A bit of a last-minute announcement . . .

The A4P team will be at the Abbotsford Flea Market tomorrow from 8am - 3pm at the Roger’s Forum Parking lot (formerly the Abbotsford Center)

We are raising much needed funds for 2 Magical Unicorns with our cat rescue BC Sphynx Rescue who both have appointments with a specialist next week.

We will be there rain or shine so come on down to say hi! We will also have A4P swag for sale, treat jars for your dogs & cats, handmade dog collars & more!

We have some exciting news to share with everybody . . . . .

Goose has found her forever family! What started off as a Foster quickly became a fail and we are so incredibly happy for her.

Goose gets to rule over 2 Great Danes of her own and is so loved by all. She absolutely loves the outdoors and is quickly on her way to be coming an adventure kitty!

Thank you so much to everybody for all of your love and support. Goose had a very long journey with us, but finding the perfect family was worth the wait

Sharing for our friends at For the Love of Danes Rescue Society

Betty & Barney are still looking for their forever families. They are currently located in Chilliwack. Unfortunately, we have not yet. Had the pleasure to meet these guys, however, we have been helping feed them while they are in Foster through our food bank program.

Please help spread the news. These two deserve a forever home

🚨 URGENT CHILLIWACK AREA: BETTY & BARNEY NEED HOMES WITHIN 2 WEEKS 🚨

💔 This is not the update we hoped to share.

Betty and Barney Rubble came into rescue after an unstable start to life. In foster care, they’ve learned routine, safety, and trust — and they’ve made incredible progress. Their foster has given them patience, structure, and compassion, and we are deeply grateful.

But due to unavoidable commitments, their foster can no longer keep them, and we must find new homes within two weeks.

We prayed they could stay together. They are deeply bonded, always touching when they sleep, and find comfort in each other. We received one application for them as a pair, but the home had a small dog — and we now know that would not be safe.

Their safety has to come first.

With heavy hearts, we are now searching for separate homes for Betty and Barney.

A trainer recently evaluated them and confirmed they are wonderful Danes who simply need the right environment and time to learn at their own pace.

🐾 Betty is calmer and may do well as an only dog, possibly with another dog in the right situation.
🐾 Barney is more uncertain and needs a patient, experienced home. A future dog companion may be possible but not guaranteed.

Both dogs need:
❤️ Adult-only home
❤️ No cats or dogs initially
❤️ Fully fenced yard
❤️ Experienced, patient Dane owner
❤️ Calm, predictable environment
❤️ Someone home much of the day

Once they trust you, Betty and Barney are incredibly loving. They may be reserved at first, but gentle patience brings out their warm, affectionate personalities.

Separating them is heartbreaking. Their first choice would be to stay together. But rescue sometimes means making the hardest decision when time is running out.

⏰ We have approximately two weeks.

Please share. You may not be able to adopt, but someone you know might be the person Betty or Barney has been waiting for.

Over the past few months, we have been inundated, much like every other local rescue, with owner surrender requests. Unfortunately, we have not been able to take in any more animals as all of our resources are being used to help Goose as well as the special needs cats, we have in care with our sister rescue BC Sphynx Rescue

A couple of weeks ago we received an email looking for some assistance with a leopard gecko. As I am familiar with the care and husbandry of leopard geckos (I have rescue reptiles of my own, including a Leo) I was more than happy to help.

So without further ado I would like to introduce everybody to Rocket 🚀

Please note that Rocket is not available for adoption at this time. We will continue to share updates and photos of this little guy as he settles in at A4P HQ

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve posted any updates. Goose is doing fantastic in her foster home and looking as gorgeous as always. It looks like she has also now claimed her own seat at the kitchen island where she keeps watch over her wait staff

Good job Goose! Got to keep those servants in check 😆
