Did you know that Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs) happen to almost 500 people each day in Canada? Please share this widely so no one has to navigate the life-altering changes that can happen after brain injury alone.

🧠 June is Brain Injury Awareness Month

A brain injury can happen in an instant. A missed step, a fall down the stairs, or a slip at home can change a life forever.

Did you know that falls are the leading cause of brain injury in Canada?

This month, we encourage everyone to take a few moments to identify and remove fall hazards at home, work, and in our communities. Together, we can help prevent brain injuries and support the more than 1.5 million Canadians living with the effects of brain injury.

June is Brain Injury Awareness Month.
Every brain injury story is different, but no one should have to navigate recovery alone.
This month, we’re shining a light on the realities of living with brain injury through our 2026 theme:

πŸ’™ Recovery – Every journey is unique, and progress deserves recognition.
❀️ Reality – Brain injury can have lasting impacts that are often unseen.
πŸ’› Recognition – Greater awareness leads to understanding, inclusion, and support.

Your donation helps Brain Injury Canada continue advocating for Canadians living with brain injury, supporting caregivers and families, and advancing education, awareness, and resources across the country.

Approximately 405,000 people in Canada are living with the effects of stroke of which 214,000 are women and 191,000 are men.

However, women are less likely to go home after experiencing a stroke, with almost 2X as many women than men going to long-term care instead.
