Spontaneous worship is biblical and has its place in private & corporate worship. It begins with listening & yielding to the Holy Spirit in the moment when you sense there’s a spiritual song that needs to be released.

It isn’t about filling up space, it’s about being attentive in recognizing when the Holy Spirit may be inviting us to linger
as our hearts are set on God.

Lead like a shepherd…and take the people with you.

As worship leaders, we’re not called to simply get somewhere ourselves, we’ve been entrusted to lead and shepherd people.

Jesus, our Good Shepherd, is our greatest example. He is patient, attentive, caring, present and mindful of those He leads.

Don’t get so caught up in the moment that you forget the people you’ve been entrusted to shepherd. Take the people with you.

Love God with everything…and love the people well that He’s placed in front of you…lead them into a deeper place of surrender to Jesus.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind…You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37–39

Here’s an abridged list of things to look for when considering new members for your worship team. This is not an exhaustive list but can be a helpful tool before or during the audition process.

Remember, there’s no perfect people & no perfect team. May we be ever committed to growing up into the fullness of who God has called us to be. May we also have the patience & steadfastness of heart to help raise up generations of mature worshipers for the glory of God.
