Sometimes finding work isn’t the only challenge.

When you’re dealing with multiple barriers at the same time, such as unstable housing, mental health challenges, substance use, a disability, or other life circumstances, finding and keeping a job can feel overwhelming.

That’s where WorkLink’s Community-Based Employment Services program comes in.

We provide individualized employment support that meets you where you’re at, including:

✅ Planning your path toward employment
✅ Building skills and confidence
✅ Job coaching and workplace support
✅ Connecting with community resources
✅ Ongoing support after you start working

Stephanie has been part of the Abbotsford Senior Secondary School community for more than 35 years.

Starting her career as an educational assistant before transitioning into a school career advisory role, she has witnessed firsthand how access to healthy, nutritious food through the Starfish Packs program can make a meaningful difference in a student’s life.

With food banks across the country facing increasing strain, Stephanie believes community support and programs like Starfish are more important than ever.

October is Islamic History Month in Canada! 🌙✨

This month is an opportunity to celebrate and learn about the rich history, culture, and contributions of Muslim communities in Canada and around the world. From advancements in science, medicine, astronomy, and the humanities to lasting influences on art and culture, these contributions have helped shape and enrich our society.

This years theme is "The Art and Legacy of Islamic Calligraphy".

For centuries, Islamic calligraphy has been more than an art form. It has helped preserve knowledge, share stories, and celebrate the written word. Renowned for its beauty and craftsmanship, it remains a powerful symbol of creativity, learning, and cultural heritage.

Proclaimed by the Parliament of Canada in 2007, Islamic History Month also serves as a time to reflect on the ongoing challenges faced by Muslim Canadians. It is a call to action for all of us to stand united against discrimination, Islamophobia, and hate-fueled violence in all its forms.

The Fraser Valley Construction Electrician Foundation Program provides occupational skills training, safety certifications, hands-on practicum experience, and employment support to help participants enter the construction electrical trade.

The program is open to immigrants, youth, Indigenous peoples, women interested in trades and multi-barriered individuals 17 years old or above.

Eligibility
🔹Receiving EI or Income Assistance
🔹Received EI within the last 5 years or EI eligible
🔹Intermediate English level

Happy Thanksgiving! 🍂🧡

Thanksgiving is a time to pause, reflect, and celebrate the people, moments, and opportunities that bring gratitude to our lives.

Whether you're gathering around the table with loved ones, sharing a traditional meal, or simply enjoying a well-deserved day of rest, we hope your holiday is filled with joy, warmth, and gratitude.

During Thanksgiving, it is important to remember that Indigenous Peoples across what is now Canada have long traditions of giving thanks for the land and its abundance. Long before the arrival of European settlers, many Indigenous Nations marked seasonal harvests through ceremonies, feasts, songs, dances, and cultural teachings. While traditions vary among Nations, gratitude, reciprocity, and respect for the land have been central to Indigenous ways of life for generations.

Please note that most Archway locations will be closed on Monday, October 12th. Services will resume on Tuesday, October 13th.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

Observed annually on October 10th, this day serves as a reminder to prioritize our mental well-being while providing an opportunity for individuals, communities, and organizations to promote mental health awareness, education, and support.

This year’s theme, “Lived experiences heard: Real voices, Real change,” emphasizes the importance of listening to and learning from those with lived experience of mental health challenges. Their insights, perspectives, and expertise play a vital role in shaping more responsive mental health services, stronger support systems, and more inclusive communities.

Together, we can continue to work towards creating a world where mental health is valued, support is accessible, and every voice is heard.
