🚨 ANIMAL CRUELTY MUST STOP !
THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.!!!🚨

We received information this morning about a dog who was allegedly left with its mouth taped shut for an unknown amount of time. The tape caused a severe wound, destroying the tissue around the area and leaving this poor animal with serious injuries that may have lasting consequences. 💔

There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of cruelty. Whatever personal problems or circumstances someone may be facing at home, an innocent animal should never be made to suffer because of them.

The dog is now safe and receiving veterinary treatment, but we do not yet know how well the wound will heal or what long-term effects this horrific injury may have.

We are continuing to investigate this matter with the assistance of our local police and will do everything within the law to identify the person responsible and ensure that appropriate legal action is taken. Our current laws may not always place animal protection in the strongest position, but that does not mean cases like this should be ignored.

Whoever is responsible must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
We cannot allow acts of cruelty like this to continue without consequences.

If you have witnessed animal abuse or cruelty of any kind, please do not remain silent. You can report these incidents anonymously. Your information could be the piece that helps authorities intervene, protect an animal, and prevent further abuse.

The more awareness we create, the more reports are made, and the more these cases are brought to light, the better chance we have of creating real change and putting measures in place to prevent these horrific situations from happening in the first place.

This is bigger than one dog. Animal cruelty is happening across Belize, and it must be taken seriously. Animals cannot speak for themselves or defend themselves against abuse it is our responsibility to speak up and protect them.

🐾 Enough is enough! Animals deserve protection, compassion, and justice.

🐾 Foster Situation Update! 🐾
Since our last post, we’ve received so much support, and we’re incredibly grateful! ❤️ All of our most vulnerable pets who require constant care are now safely being fostered. 🏡🐶🐱

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who opened their hearts and homes to these little furballs. We truly appreciate each and every one of you! ❤️🐾

🐾 FOSTER HOMES NEEDED! 🐾

Our shelter is currently over capacity, with 39 cats and 54 dogs in our care including at least *10 newborns* who would greatly benefit from the extra love, attention, and socialization that a foster home can provide. ❤️

While our team works hard every day to care for all of the animals at the shelter, our clinic is also continuing to see patients who sometimes need to be hospitalized. This means our time and attention are divided between caring for our shelter animals and tending to hospitalized patients. Although we always make sure our shelter animals receive the care they need, having them spend time in a foster home would give them something we simply can’t provide in the shelter environment: more one-on-one attention, socialization, and the experience of being part of a loving home.

Unfortunately, many of our volunteers are currently out of the country, while others are already fostering animals and are unable to take in more.

That’s where YOU can help! 🏡🐶🐱
Fostering gives these animals a safe, loving environment where they can grow up experiencing the care and affection they deserve. For our newborns especially, this early socialization can help them become happier, more confident, and better prepared for adoption into loving forever homes.

If you’re interested in fostering or possibly even adopting, please reach out to us for more information!
Every foster home makes room for us to help another animal in need. ❤️

🐾 Recent Adoptions!🐾

We are beyond grateful for everyone who has opened their hearts and homes to give these sweet pets another chance at the happy, loving life they deserve. ❤️

A HUGE thank you as well to everyone who helps with fostering and gives these animals a safe place to stay while they wait for their forever homes. We truly couldn’t do this without you! 🏡🐶🐱

Our shelter is constantly receiving more and more animals in need, and we would be so grateful for any help with fostering or adoption. Many of these pets would absolutely thrive from getting to experience a loving family, a cozy home, and all the love and attention that comes with it. 🥹❤️

If you’re interested in adopting or fostering, give us a call at 226-3266 or drop by our Shelter Clinic for a quick meet & greet!🐾

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us and, most importantly, gives these animals the second chances they deserve! ❤️

🐾 FOUND DOG — HELP US FIND HER FAMILY🐾

This sweet girl was recently brought into our shelter after being picked up near the gas station by the bridge. We were informed that she may belong to someone in the nearby area.

She is clearly missing her home, and we would love nothing more than to reunite her with her family. ❤️🐶

If she is not claimed within 2 weeks she will be placed for adoption as multiple people have shown interest in her!

If you recognize her or have any information about where she belongs, please give us a call at 226-3266.

📞 Please share this post so we can help get her back home!
