October 1st marks the opening of the Queen Conch fishing season!

TIDE staff were out on the water meeting with fishers who use the Sapodilla Cayes Marine Reserve (SCMR). We were especially keen to connect with new fishers and ensure they are familiar with the marine protected area’s rules and regulations.

By raising awareness and encouraging responsible fishing practices, we can help protect Queen Conch populations and support a sustainable fishery for the future.
