Meet Roxanna Madeline Shook — a passionate young conservationist proudly representing Ecomar and the Belize Barrier Reef Watch Program at this year’s TIDE Youth Conservation Competition under the inspiring theme, “Restoring Healthy Ecosystems Through Actions.”🌱💪

At just 18 years old, Roxanna is already a shining example of youth leadership and environmental advocacy in Belize. With an Associate’s Degree in Business Management (Accounting concentration) from Independence Junior College, she’s preparing to begin her next academic chapter at the University of Belize, pursuing a Bachelor’s in Accounting. 📚📊

For the past four years, she has served as a youth leader with the Trio Environmentalist Strikers – Eco-Group, engaging in community projects, outreach, and environmental training to protect natural resources and celebrate cultural pride in the Maya Mountain Corridor. 🌳✨

Beyond her environmental efforts, Roxanna enjoys traveling, reading, diving, volunteering, and crocheting. She lives by her inspiring motto:
“By trying, I overcome my challenges.”💫

Her journey reflects the power of action, passion, and purpose — showing how young Belizeans can lead the way in restoring and protecting our ecosystems for future generations. 🌎💚

We are back once more 💚☘️

Since 2020, TES have been doing Summer Camp, celebrated under different Themes 🌿‼️

📌 Each year, 20 to 30 childrens have been involved in a learning week, whereby topics that are covered included Climate Action, Biodiversity, Community Engagement, Environmental Conservation, Cultural Preservation, Protected Areas ( Reserves, etc. in Toledo) WaterSheds, Pollution, Marine Conservation, etc...

Last year was sucessful, we had 68 childrens who have shown interest in being environmental stewards and ancient warriors.

This Year we wanted to make this initiative a reality , by reaching out to every child.

Our mission is to empower them, Teach them and guide them to protect mother Earth not as strangers but as its children.

On August 22, 2025 join us as we open our doors to give back to our community Trio Village .

Returning our childrens back to a new academic year feeling prepared, supported and encouraged! ‼️📌☘️🌿

The Power of Leadership!!! 🔥🪸
Representing Toledo this Year, 80th Anniversary, Our first Maya designate participating in a prestigious pageant known as Queen of The Bay . We are even more excited to see how our very own Roxanna Madeline Shook compete, hailing from Trio Village, a advocate of environmental conservation, a conservationist who has been volunteering her life in doing community service.
