The Placencia Tourism Center (PTC) is the premier information hub for both visitor and resident. The PTC has formed creative outlets that have helped Placencia become one of the fastest growing tourism destinations in Belize. As a marketing agent, the Placencia Tourism Center promotes the beautiful destination of the Placencia peninsula through its website www.placencia.com, its monthly newspaper, The Placencia Breeze, various tradeshows and social media. As an event coordinator, the PTC has successfully developed grand peninsula tourist attractions, such as the popular Placencia Lobsterfest in partnership with the Placencia Village Council, the Mistletoe Ball, which is the most highly anticipated night of the holiday season, and the Placencia Sidewalk Arts Festival, a growing success which promotes local visual and performing arts. The Placencia Tourism Center also facilitates tour guide licensing, training and educational outreach for tourism partners in the peninsula community.
