Dear Gentle Folk,

We are from time to time, displaying some personal insights from our esteemed club members on their feelings about being a member of the Lions Club. This one is from a newly indoctrinated member, Lion Cristal.

What does being a Lion mean to you?

Everyone has their own reasons why they are members. This one is hers. Enjoy! And please if you find in your heart where you might have a need to help us, then please reach out to us with our email at [email protected].

Remember our motto — We Serve!

On Sunday, August 9, the Corozal Town Lions Club will conduct a neighborhood cleanup campaign at the Chactamal Plaza area beach from 0700am until 1030am.

The Lions Clubs worldwide have several focus areas listed below. This event is tethered to Environmental.

The 8 Global Causes (Focus Areas)

Vision: Working to prevent blindness, improve eye health, and support those with visual impairments.

Hunger: Supporting food security initiatives and delivering nutritious food to those in need.

Diabetes: Raising awareness, supporting education, and providing screenings to manage and prevent diabetes.

Childhood Cancer: Providing support for children and families affected by cancer through advocacy and resources.

Environment: Protecting and restoring the environment through projects such as tree planting, recycling, and cleanups.

Youth: Empowering young people through leadership programs, service opportunities, and positive, healthy choices.

Disaster Relief: Providing immediate and long-term assistance to communities affected by natural disasters.

Humanitarian Efforts: Addressing various local and global needs that fall outside the other specific causes to support vulnerable populations.

We continue use to seek volunteers from the community, other local civic organizations, and local schools if there are any students who might benefit from community service hours. If you feel the need to help - to serve - to meet like-minded individuals, them consider sending an email to us with your thoughts about it. Perhaps you’d like to join this small, yet mighty club. Contact us at [email protected] and the secretary will contact you.

A NIGHT OF HISTORY, SERVICE & CELEBRATION!

The members of the Corozal Town Lions Club were honored to be present for a truly historic night at the San Pedro Lions Den in San Pedro, Belize, for the Installation Ceremony of our Regional Chairperson, Regional Cabinet, and officers of multiple Lions Clubs across Belize on 18 July 2026.

This year marks an important milestone for Lions in Belize as we move from being a Zone to a Provisional Region. This is a significant step forward in our Lions journey, reflecting the growth and strength of Lions service in Belize and providing greater regional leadership and coordination to support our clubs and communities.

We look forward to working alongside our newly installed Regional Chairperson, Lion Nigel Belisle, and his dedicated Cabinet as we continue to strengthen our clubs and make an even greater impact through service. 🦁

The installation was conducted by PDG Gilberto Alcoser Lopez, while our guest speaker, PDG Addy Aguilar Polanco, shared inspiring words that reminded us of the power of leadership, commitment, and service.

We were also incredibly honored that the Corozal Town Lions Club was recognized and placed in the spotlight that evening! 🏆🎉

🥈 2nd Place – Membership Growth
🏆 Major Lions Award – Best Lions Club in Advertising & Public Relations

These recognitions are a reflection of the dedication, teamwork, and passion of every member of our club. We are truly grateful and proud of what we have accomplished together.

🌱 Rooted in Service: As we begin this new Lions year, we are ready to continue growing, serving, and making a difference. We will put our roots deeper into our community, strengthen the bonds within our club, and continue to grow our impact through meaningful service.

This is only the beginning of what promises to be a wonderful Lions year. The Corozal Town Lions Club is ready to serve!

Rooted in Service. Growing Through Purpose. Serving Our Community.

On 22 July, the Corozal Town Lions Club was invited to attend and provide healthy snacks to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology (MoECST) Shine and Grow SPED Summer Camp at the Maximum Water Park in Corozal Town for Special Needs children. We provided sandwiches, cold beverages, and good vibes for the children there. This was also a painting workshop where the children showed off their wonderful talents. This Friday (24 July) at 1000am at the water park, the children will show off their painting skills to anyone who might want to pass by and support.

Remember, the Lions Clubs International (LCI) officially champions eight core humanitarian focus areas (known as Global Causes) to guide community service efforts. Explore these initiatives and find local volunteer opportunities on the Lions Clubs International website.

The 8 focus areas include:
Vision: Supporting eye health, providing treatments, and preventing avoidable blindness.

Diabetes: Reducing the global prevalence of diabetes and improving the quality of life for those diagnosed.

Hunger: Fighting food insecurity and expanding access to nutritious meals.

Environment: Promoting sustainability, recycling, clean-ups, and ecological protection.

Childhood Cancer: Raising awareness, supporting pediatric patients, and aiding their families.

Youth: Empowering young people through leadership development, education, and service (e.g., Leo Clubs).

Disaster Relief: Aiding communities immediately following natural disasters and during long-term rebuilding.

Humanitarian Efforts: Addressing broader, localized community needs and displaced populations.

This event falls under two areas at once…Hunger (healthy eating habits) and Youth (education and service).

Where there is a need, there is a Lion!
