Do your research and don't get scammed financially, mentally or spiritually! At this time, there is a lot of information available so that you can objectively research cults, cult activities, and patterns in order for you to be aware and cultivate discernment when it comes to cults. Please educate yourself and those young people around you. Narcicissim and manipulation of adults, vulnerable young and mature women, draining the naive out of financial resources is not to be underestimated and has long standing consequences. All of the cults and cult personalities are not to be taken for granted. There are key red flags to be mindful of. Circular rhetorical talk, “gaslighting”, “triangulation”, “grooming”, “crazy making”, lack of transparency, not using legal names, isolation from family, orchestration of communications of cult members, orchestrated and patterned distancing from family members, orchestrated dependency for food, clothing and all resources, and decision making on the cult leader, lack of ability to communicate without instructions from the cult leader, and many more patterns. A savvy con artist can quite often manipulate a whole community, especially where locals are unfamiliar and uneducated about cults i.e. in other countries where their activities and cannot be traced or character cross referenced. Cults will exploit the personal insecurities of members, and manipulate people who may have experienced a life crisis such as a death, medical diagnosis, divorce, those growing up without a father, or estranged from parents, young adults anxious and worried about adulting and unsure of their future, single mothers, young adults unsure of college, and even those experiencing conflict in communication in their marital relationships. *Note that Jim Jones used basketball to entice young men into his cult positioning himself as a father figure. Family members and are used to introduce the cult into communities one persona at a time. Please educate yourself.
