Congratulations to everyone who successfully completed the Mangrove Restoration Training, proudly supported by WWF Mesoamerica.

This training equipped participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to support the on the ground mangrove restoration activities that followed, helping ensure restoration efforts are carried out using best practices.

We're especially excited that each participant will now become part of the Hopkins Mangrove Restoration Taskforce under the Tidal Legacy Foundation. As the taskforce grows, these trained community members will play an important role in future mangrove restoration and conservation activities throughout Hopkins.

Thank you to everyone who dedicated their time and energy to learning, working together, and investing in the future of our community's mangroves. This is just the beginning.

On March 25th, I had the wonderful opportunity to lead a discussion on leadership at the Turton Library Center in Belize City with an incredible group of students from Edward P. Yorke High School.

Together, we explored what it truly means to lead through activities and conversations that challenged us to think differently. We reflected on leadership, the choices we make, and the impact we can have on those around us.

What stood out most was how engaged everyone was. These young people were thoughtful, open, and willing to contribute. If they are any indication of the future, Belize is in good hands.

Moments like these remind me why I do the work that I do. There is something incredibly rewarding about creating spaces where young people can think critically, challenge assumptions, and begin to see the leader within themselves.

Thank you to the Turton Library and to the students and teachers of Edward P. Yorke High School for making it such a memorable experience.

Thank you to Fragments of Hope, for always supporting us with their wonderful Reef Colouring books! We appreciate you ❤️

On May 16 and 17, community members from Hopkins Village came together for a Mangrove Restoration Training in preparation for upcoming restoration activities within the community.

A sincere thank you to WWF Mesoamerica for supporting this initiative by providing the trainer and meals for participants. We are especially grateful to Nadia Bood and Juliet Neal, whose support and coordination helped make this training possible, and to Kevin Novelo for sharing his knowledge and expertise through an engaging and informative training experience.

We also extend our appreciation to Barbara Nunez for generously allowing us to use the school facilities and to Marley Nunez and Jeremy Christoph for their unwavering support every step of the way.

Most importantly, thank you to all the community members who participated. Your enthusiasm, engagement, and commitment to learning were inspiring and reflect the community's dedication to protecting and restoring our mangrove ecosystems.

We look forward to putting this knowledge into action as restoration efforts continue in Hopkins.

Proud to share that Tidal Legacy Foundation is one of the first organizations officially registered and planted under Belize’s national Greening Belize Initiative.

Planting trees may seem simple, but the impact reaches far beyond that. It is about restoration, resilience, community, and creating greener spaces for future generations.

As a foundation, this is work we truly believe in and work we plan to continue across Belize alongside the Belize Forest Department.

Thank you to all the beautiful mothers within my community for being the first participants contributing to this activity.

Looking forward to the future, one seedling at a time!

This Saturday was such a special one 💚

Tidal Legacy Foundation would like to again extend a huge thank you to Hopkins Community Platforms for wanting to create something meaningful for the mothers within our community and for inviting our foundation to be a part of it.

Our mothers and Mother Nature are the foundation of all life. They nurture, protect, heal, and continue giving even when no one is watching. This day was about creating space to appreciate both.

Mothers had the opportunity to spend the day surrounded by nature at the beautiful Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary before taking part in a planting session afterwards, leaving behind something meaningful that will continue to grow for years to come.

This activity was also carried out in partnership with and with the support of the Belize Forest Department. As one of Tidal Legacy Foundation’s focus areas, we continue supporting restoration and reforestation efforts involving native species to help improve forest cover and biodiversity across our landscapes. It was also wonderful seeing this activity contribute to the Forest Department’s wider National Greening Belize Initiative.

Sometimes the best way to give back is simply to slow down, reconnect with nature, and remember the importance of caring for the things that care for us.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make the day possible and to all the mothers who spent the day with us.

Tidal Legacy Foundation is proud to introduce the Hopkin's Mangrove Restoration Taskforce!

On April 26, we held our first session, bringing together a passionate group of community members alongside the team from WWF Mesoamerica supporting this initiative. It was a space to connect, share perspectives, and start building something meaningful together.

We spoke about areas across the village that need support and began shaping what restoration in Hopkins can look like in the months ahead, including upcoming trainings and hands on work. The conversation moved beyond ideas as we walked through the village, identifying key spaces where mangroves can and should return.

This is how it begins. Community showing up, paying attention, and choosing to take care of what matters.

If you would like to sign up, now is the time!

April 26th 2026

There is something powerful about seeing over 100 people show up at 6:00 a.m. on a Saturday for a cleanup. People choosing, on their own time, to show love for Belize. That speaks volumes.

So proud to have joined another 'Plastic Free Pride Full' Campaign cleanup with Sea of Life, partners, volunteers, and a community that keeps growing every single time. What started as a simple act of service continues to build into something much bigger.

Each stop brings new faces, familiar faces, stronger energy, and a reminder that community care is alive and well.

Thank you to everyone who came out and gave their time, and thank you to Sea of Life for creating this space for people to connect through action. These cleanups keep getting bigger, and that gives me so much hope.

Looking forward to the next stop and to welcoming even more people into this growing movement. Belize keeps showing up.

The Reef Run brought Reef Week 2026 to a close in the best way possible…

Just seeing everyone show up and be part of it meant a lot. That kind of support, that kind of presence, it matters.

A huge thank you to the organizing partners WWF Mesoamerica, Healthy Reefs for Healthy People, Total Time, and StoneFit Club for helping make this happen. The coordination and effort behind the scenes truly showed.

To all our supporters and partners, thank you for your contributions and for continuing to stand with us in this work.

To every runner who showed up and gave it their all, thank you. You brought the energy, the excitement, and the purpose.

And to my wonderful volunteers ❤️
I truly appreciate you all taking the time to support the foundation. Your time and effort made this day what it was.

A strong finish to an even stronger Reef Week.
