Belize National Association of Social Workers

The Belize National Association of Social Workers (BNASW) is the only professional association in Belize who promotes and implements best practice models among all social workers in Belize. The BNASW was founded by the Social Work Department at the University of Belize. The BNASW is a non-profit organization who aims to monitor social work services and establish standards of practice within the profession, in order to promote quality social work services to all those who are in need. In addition, the protection of all social workers is vital to the services offered. Our vision is to build the Belizean community through the implementation of social justice, human rights, and social development. The board of directors consists of educators, advocators, and administrators whose mission is to secure the best social work services to all Belizeans. Members benefit from a broad range of professional development including national and international access to information, trainings, and events. The support in lobbying and campaigning for social work issues, and policies is encouraged within all members.
