We are thrilled to announce that the Belize City Sub Umbra Floreo Lions Club has received a generous donation from Digi Belize! They've provided us with a Samsung A15 phone to enhance our communication capabilities and support our ongoing service projects.

Digi Belize's commitment to uplifting the communities they operate in is truly commendable. This donation not only demonstrates their dedication to fostering positive change but also significantly enhances our ability to connect with members and coordinate our outreach efforts effectively. With this phone, we can streamline communication, ensuring that we remain organized and responsive as we serve our community.

This partnership underscores the importance of collaboration between businesses and local organizations. Together, we can make a lasting impact and reach those who need our support the most.

A heartfelt thank you to Digi Belize for standing with us and investing in the future of our community! We look forward to leveraging this support to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

At Belize City Sub Umbra Floreo Lions Club, we believe that education is a fundamental right, and every child deserves access to the tools that make learning possible. By providing essential school supplies, we empower our young students to pursue their education with confidence and pride, knowing they are equipped to succeed.

On October 18, The Belize City Sub Umbra Floreo Lions Club hosted a heartwarming Back-to-School Drive at Muslim Community Primary School, in collaboration with Ms. Martha Sacasa (Principal), our youth committee along with Lion members.

A huge thank you to our generous sponsors— RF&G Insurance Company Limited, Belize Port Authority, Simon Quan & Co. Ltd., Welworth Store, Denise Fast Food, and Mrs. Karima Williams, Councillor Sherwin Garcia, and Ms. Dominique Noralez, Director of the Leadership Unit from the Intervention Unit —as well as our Lions members and Prospective members who donated both time and resources. Your dedication and countless service hours spent packing and distributing the bags made this initiative a success!

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our sponsors and the Youth Service Committee, we equipped 78 children with backpacks or tote bags filled with essential school supplies—like notebooks, erasers, pencils, and more—giving them the confidence to start the new school year off strong!

Together, we are making a lasting impact on our community and helping to create a brighter future for our children!

By promoting equal opportunities, education, and health services, we pave the way for girls to realize their dreams and make lasting contributions. Let’s come together to uplift the next generation of female leaders by supporting vision health, education, and youth development, so they can see their full potential and lead with confidence.

Join us in celebrating and standing for a future where every girl can have a clear vision of her dreams and the strength to achieve them!

On Tuesday, October 8th, members of the Belize City Sub Umbra Floreo Lions Club joined forces with Dreams Nails and Hair Salon to bring joy and pampering to the residents of Golden Haven Rest Home in Hattieville. We were warmly welcomed by 30 residents and staff, who shared a day of smiles, laughter, and connection with us.

Led by Lion Sandra Vallesteros, Chairperson of the Diabetes Committee and a local business owner, we offered haircuts, pedicures, and fun entertainment to our cherished senior citizens. Lion Sandra’s love for serving the elderly was clear, as she brought her staff along to provide pamper the residents.

This day was filled with love, service, and community spirit, in celebration of International Day of Older Persons and Lions Service Day. A big thank you to everyone who made this special day possible. BIG thank you to Lion Maxine Mckay and Lion Sherlett O’Brian.

Note: Due to home regulations, we are unable to share photos of the residents, but we are so grateful for the chance to bring joy to these wonderful individuals.

Mental Health Matters: Take Time for YOU Today!

Mental health is just as important as physical health. As Lions, we know that serving others is at the heart of what we do, but we must also remember to take care of ourselves. Here are a few ways to focus on mental wellness:

💬 Talk it Out: Don’t keep your struggles inside. Reach out to a fellow Lion, friend, or family member if you're feeling overwhelmed. Together, we’re stronger!

🧘 Take a Break: Whether it’s a short walk, some quiet time, or reading a book, make space in your day to relax and recharge.

💡 Practice Gratitude: Reflect on the good in your life. Even small moments of gratitude can lift your spirits.

🔄 Stay Connected: Social connections are vital for our well-being. Reach out and check on a fellow Lion or someone in your community who might need it.

We recently partnered with Atlantic Bank to host a luncheon recognizing the amazing public servants from the KHMH, Sanitation Department, and Belize City Council. These hardworking individuals are the backbone of our community, working behind the scenes to keep our city safe, clean, and thriving.

This was our small way of saying “Thank you” for all they do. Their dedication doesn’t go unnoticed, and we are proud to support those who give so much to our society.

A big thank you to all public servants for your tireless efforts!

🎗️ This October, the Belize City Sub Umbra Floreo Lions Club unites to raise awareness about cancer and its impact on our community. 🎗️

Cancer affects many lives, and knowing the risks and prevention methods is key. We encourage everyone to take steps towards early detection, regular screenings, and embracing healthy lifestyle choices.

Did You Know?

🔎 Early Detection Saves Lives: Regular screenings can catch cancer early when it's easier to treat. Talk to your doctor about getting checked!

⚠️ Know the Warning Signs: Unexplained weight loss, persistent pain, or skin changes can be early signs of cancer. Don’t ignore them!

🏃‍♀️ Healthy Lifestyle Matters: A balanced diet, exercise, and staying away from to***co can lower your risk. Small changes, big impact!

Let’s stand with those battling cancer and honor the survivors, fighters, and those we’ve lost. By spreading awareness, we can make a difference.
